Embora as pesquisas nessa &#225;rea estejam evoluindo aceleradamente desde o final da d&#233;cada de 1990, os livros did&#225;ticos e os programas curriculares de Ci&#234;ncias da Natureza adotados na Educa&#231;&#227;o B&#225;sica ainda apresentam uma vis&#227;o ultrapassada da Astronomia, ignorando a diversidade de planetas e sistemas solares j&#225; identificados pela Ci&#234;ncia. Tal fato acaba por obliterar o acesso dos estudantes a esse tipo de conhecimento, consequentemente limitando o trabalho dos professores. O objetivo do presente artigo &#233; apresentar como algumas ferramentas de divulga&#231;&#227;o cient&#237;fica e pesquisa podem servir ao prop&#243;sito de desenvolver o tema vida e universo nas escolas. Tais ferramentas incluem aplicativos para tablets, sites oficiais, simuladores e projetos de citizen science - por meio dos quais os internautas podem contribuir diretamente com as pesquisas cient&#237;ficas. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  The discovery of exoplanets - planets orbiting other stars - has strong implications not only on our knowledge of solar systems but also on the study of life in the universe as it expands the possibilities of habitability in our galaxy. Although research in this area is evolving rapidly since the late 1990s, the Primary Education&#180;s textbooks and curricula of Natural Sciences still have an obsolete view of Astronomy, ignoring the diversity of planets and solar systems identified by science. This fact turns out to obliterate the student access to such knowledge, thus limiting the work of teachers. The aim of this paper is to present how some tools for scientific dissemination and research can serve the purpose of developing the theme life and universe in schools. Such tools include applications for tablets, official websites, simulators and citizen science projects - through which Internet users can contribute directly with scientific research. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  El descubrimiento de los exoplanetas - planetas que orbitan otras estrellas - tiene fuertes implicaciones no solo sobre nuestro conocimiento a respecto de los sistemas solares, sino tambi&#233;n sobre el estudio de la vida en el universo, una vez que expande las posibilidades de habitabilidad en nuestra galaxia. Aunque las investigaciones en esta &#225;rea hayan evolucionado aceleradamente desde el final de la d&#233;cada de 1990, los libros did&#225;cticos y los programas curriculares de Ciencias de la Naturaleza adoptados en la Educaci&#243;n B&#225;sica todav&#237;a presentan una visi&#243;n antigua de la Astronom&#237;a, ignorando la diversidad de planetas y sistemas solares ya identificados por la Ciencia. Este hecho acaba por negar el acceso de los estudiantes a este tipo de conocimiento y, consecuentemente, limita el trabajo de los profesores. El objetivo del presente art&#237;culo es presentar c&#243;mo algunas herramientas incluyen aplicativos para tabletas, sitios de internet oficiales, simuladores y proyectos de citizen science - por medio de los cuales los internautas pueden contribuir directamente con las investigaciones cient&#237;ficas. ]]></p></abstract>
