Estima-se que no Brasil a preval&#234;ncia das FLP &#233; de uma crian&#231;a entre 650 nascimentos. Este estudo teve por objetivo descrever alguns aspectos da trajet&#243;ria escolar de pessoas com FLP, sobretudo, o de verificar a percep&#231;&#227;o destas sobre algumas barreiras encontradas em seu trajeto escolar na educa&#231;&#227;o b&#225;sica. Participaram da pesquisa dois adultos que t&#234;m fissura de l&#225;bio e palato e realizaram todo o percurso da educa&#231;&#227;o b&#225;sica no ensino regular. Os participantes responderam a uma entrevista na qual foram abordados temas sobre sua escolariza&#231;&#227;o. As entrevistas foram gravadas e analisadas qualitativamente e organizadas por meio de categorias, de acordo com os temas gerados. Os resultados mostraram que as dificuldades iniciais em fun&#231;&#227;o da fala n&#227;o interferiram no processo de escolariza&#231;&#227;o das alunas, bem como n&#227;o impediram de conclu&#237;rem a educa&#231;&#227;o b&#225;sica. Entretanto, em determinado momento da vida escolar passaram por alguma dificuldade, necessitando do apoio de profissionais especializados. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  The cleft lip palate (CLP) is a congenital malformation that affects the facial region, where the cleft communicates the oral and nasal regions, causing air to escape through the nose and nasalized voice. In Brazil, it is estimated that the prevalence of CLP is of one child among 650 births. This study aimed to describe some aspects of school life of people with CLP, especially to verify their perception about some barriers found in their school path in basic education. The participants were two adults, who have cleft lip palate and carried all the way through basic education in regular schools. Participants responded to an interview where they discussed issues about their education. The interviews were recorded and analyzed qualitatively and organized by categories according to the generated topics. The results showed that the initial difficulties due to the speech did not interfere in the educational process of the students and did not stop them from completing basic education, but at a certain time of the school life, they went through some difficulties, requiring the support of specialized professionals. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  La fisura labio-palatina es una malformaci&#243;n cong&#233;nita afectando a la regi&#243;n facial, que comunica las regiones de hendidura oral y nasal, lo que hace que el aire escape a trav&#233;s de la nariz y que la voz se quede gangosa. Se estima que en Brasil la prevalencia de FLP se produce en uno de cada 650 nacimientos. El estudio tiene como objetivo describir la vida escolar de las personas con FLP especialmente para verificar la percepci&#243;n de &#233;stos en algunas de las barreras que se encuentran en su camino escolar en la educaci&#243;n b&#225;sica. Dos adultos que tienen fisura labio-palatina participaron de la investigaci&#243;n e hicieron toda la educaci&#243;n b&#225;sica en las escuelas regulares. Los participantes respondieron a una entrevista para discutir los temas presentes sobre su escolarizaci&#243;n. Las entrevistas fueron grabadas y analizadas cualitativamente y organizadas por categor&#237;as, de acuerdo con los temas generados. Los resultados indicaron que las dificultades iniciales en funci&#243;n del habla no interfirieron en el proceso educativo de los estudiantes, tampoco fue motivo de impedimento para concluir la educaci&#243;n b&#225;sica. No obstante, en un momento dado de la vida escolar pasaron por alguna dificultad que requiri&#243; el apoyo de profesionales especializados. ]]></p></abstract>
