Para atender ao objetivo, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica pautada nos pressupostos da Psicologia Histórico-Cultural. Compreender conceitos de alfabetização e letramento e a relação entre eles é imprescindível para que se possam construir práticas efetivas de leitura e escrita. Este estudo permitiu a constatação de que alfabetização e letramento são processos distintos, porém indissociáveis. Concluímos que ser alfabetizado vai além do simples conhecimento sobre o código linguístico, ou seja, não basta apenas conhecer as letras do alfabeto. Saber decodificar algumas palavras ou frases não é suficiente para ter domínio do uso da língua escrita. Constatamos que ser alfabetizado ultrapassa um simples conhecimento sobre as letras e, por fim, verificamos que, em uma sociedade com a cultura letrada, como a atual, mais que alfabetizados, os indivíduos precisam ser letrados, ou seja, ademais de terem domínio da leitura e da escrita, precisam utilizá-las em seu cotidiano, dando-lhes significado social.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract By identifying the need to research concepts of reading/writing and literacy, we developed the present research, aiming to understand them through several authors who discuss and research about such processes. To meet the objective, we conducted a bibliographic research based on the assumptions of Historical-Cultural Psychology. Understanding reading/writing and literacy concepts and the relationship between them is essential for building effective reading and writing practices. This study allowed the realization that reading/writing and literacy are distinct but inseparable processes. We conclude that being literate goes beyond simply knowing the language code, i.e. not just knowing the letters of the alphabet. Knowing how to decode some words or phrases is not enough to master the use of written language. We realize that being literate goes beyond just knowing about letters, and finally, we find that in a society with literate culture, such as the current one, individuals need to be more than literate, that is, besides having mastery of reading and writing, they need to use them in their daily lives, to give social meaning to reading and writing.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Al identificar la necesidad de investigar conceptos de alfabetización y literatura, desarrollamos la presente investigación, con el objetivo de comprenderlos a través de varios autores que discuten e investigan sobre tales procesos. Para cumplir el objetivo, realizamos una investigación bibliográfica basada en los supuestos de la Psicología Histórico-Cultural. Comprender conceptos de alfabetización y literatura y la relación entre ellas es esencial para desarrollar prácticas efectivas de lectura y escritura. Este estudio permitió darse cuenta de que la alfabetización y la literatura son procesos distintos, pero inseparables. Concluimos que saber leer y escribir va más allá de simplemente conocer el código del idioma, es decir, no solo conocer las letras del alfabeto. Saber cómo decodificar algunas palabras o frases no es suficiente para dominar el uso del lenguaje escrito. Nos damos cuenta de que el alfabetismo va más allá del simple conocimiento de las letras y, finalmente, encontramos que en una sociedad con cultura alfabetizada, como preséntela actual, más que alfabetizados, los individuos necesitan ser alfabetizados, es decir, además de tener dominio sobre el leer y escribir, necesitan usarlos en su vida diari, para darles un significado social.]]></p></abstract>
