São apresentados um panorama da migração venezuelana em Boa Vista e alguns aspectos da educação para essa parcela da população. Apresenta-se ainda um caso de programa extensionista voltado para a assistência aos surdos migrantes e que valoriza a língua de sinais do migrante. Como objetivo do trabalho, demonstram-se as implicações possíveis para o campo dos estudos migratórios com a atenção voltada para a especificidade das comunidades surdas que migram. Os resultados indicam uma ainda total ausência de políticas linguísticas e educacionais voltadas para migrantes e refugiados surdos, o que demanda um repensar das práticas das escolas que buscam uma inclusão ainda alijada, pautada na ideologia do monolinguismo das línguas de acolhimento. Nesse ponto, invocam-se as premissas dos direitos humanos linguísticos e as frentes possíveis e passíveis de atuação para uma escola que realmente abra as portas para a população de surdos migrantes no Brasil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In this article, a relationship between migration and deafness is made, focusing mainly on the case of deaf Venezuelan migrants in the state of Roraima. An overview of Venezuelan migration in Boa Vista and some aspects of education for this part of the population are presented. It also presents a case of an extension program aimed at assisting deaf migrants and which values the migrant's sign language. As an objective of the work, the possible implications for the field of migratory studies are demonstrated, with attention focused on the specificity of the deaf communities that migrate. The results indicate a total absence of linguistic and educational policies aimed at deaf migrants and refugees, which demands a rethinking of the practices of schools that seek an inclusion that is still unfulfilled, based on the ideology of monolingualism of the national languages. At this point, the premises of linguistic human rights are invoked and the possible and practical fronts of action for a school that really opens the doors to the deaf migrant population in Brazil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En este artículo se realiza una relación entre migración y la sordera, centrándose principalmente en el caso de los migrantes venezolanos sordos en el estado de Roraima. Se presenta un panorama de la migración venezolana en la ciudad de Boa Vista y algunos aspectos de la educación para esta parte de la población. También se presenta un caso de un programa de la universidad dirigido a la atención de migrantes sordos y que valora la lengua de señas del migrante. Como objetivo del trabajo, se demuestran las posibles implicaciones para el campo de los estudios migratorios, con atención enfocada en la especificidad de las comunidades sordas que migran. Los resultados indican una ausencia total de políticas lingüísticas y educativas dirigidas a sordos migrantes y refugiados, lo que demanda un replanteamiento de las prácticas de las escuelas que buscan una inclusión aún excluida, a partir de la ideología del monolingüismo de las lenguas de acogida. En este punto, se invocan las premisas de los derechos humanos lingüísticos y los posibles y e imposibles frentes de acción para una escuela que de verdad abra las puertas a la población sorda migrante en Brasil.]]></p></abstract>
