Objetivamos investigar o acolhimento dos estudos do sociólogo inglês Stephen Ball na área política educacional brasileira, tendo em vista nosso interesse em utilizar sua Teoria da Atuação Política no desenvolvimento de nossa pesquisa acadêmica, que tem como objeto de estudo a Avaliação Educacional promovida pela Secretaria de Educação de Pernambuco por meio do Programa de Modernização da Gestão Pública. Assim, qualitativamente realizamos um levantamento bibliográfico explorando autores que apresentam os estudos de Stephen Ball para avaliação de políticas, entre os quais destacamos: Lopes (2016), Mainardes (2006; 2018a; 2018b) e Rosa (2019). Quantitativamente, mapeamos universidades e relacionamos pesquisadores que adotam Ball como referencial teórico alternativo para análises de políticas educacionais. Inferimos que os estudos de Ball possibilitam um caminho investigativo reflexivo com compreensão das condições sociais que circundam as políticas públicas, o que vem dando base a expressivo número de pesquisadores brasileiros e a estudos acadêmicos educacionais distribuídos em grande parte do Brasil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper presents the results of a bibliographic research, with a qualitative-quantitative approach. We aimed to investigate the reception of the studies of the English sociologist Stephen Ball in the Brazilian educational policy area, in view of our interest in using his Theory of Political Action in the development of our academic research, which has as object of study the Educational Evaluation promoted by the Secretariat of Education of Pernambuco State through its Public Management Modernization Program. Thus, qualitatively we conducted a bibliographic survey exploring authors who present Stephen Ball's studies for policy evaluation, among which we highlight: Lopes (2016), Mainardes (2006; 2018a; 2018b) and Rosa (2019). Quantitatively, we have mapped universities and have listed researchers who had adopted Ball as an alternative theoretical reference for educational policy analysis. We infer that Ball's studies enable a reflective investigative path with a contextualized perspective, as well as the understanding of the social conditions that surround public policies, which has provided the basis for a significant number of Brazilian researchers and educational academic studies distributed throughout much of Brazil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación bibliográfica, con un enfoque cuali-cuantitativo. Nos propusimos investigar la recepción de los estudios del sociólogo inglés Stephen Ball en el ámbito de la política educativa brasileña, dado nuestro interés en utilizar su Teoría Política de la Actuación en el desarrollo de nuestra investigación académica, cuyo objeto de estudio es la Evaluación Educativa promovida por la Secretaría de Educación de Pernambuco, a través del Programa de Modernización de la Gestión Pública. Así, cualitativamente realizamos una encuesta bibliográfica explorando los autores que presentan los estudios de Stephen Ball para la evaluación de políticas, entre los que destacamos: Lopes (2016), Mainardes (2006; 2018a; 2018b) y Rosa (2019). Cuantitativamente, hemos mapeado las universidades y enumerado los investigadores que adoptan el Ball como referencia teórica alternativa para el análisis de la política educativa. Inferimos que los estudios de Ball permiten un camino de investigación reflexiva con una perspectiva contextualizada, así como la comprensión de las condiciones sociales que rodean a las políticas públicas, lo que ha servido de base a un importante número de investigadores brasileños y estudios académicos educativos distribuidos en gran parte de Brasil.]]></p></abstract>
