O trabalho foi construído a partir da análise do documento, seguindo as orientações da pesquisa documental e em diálogo com parte da bibliografia crítica do campo do currículo (Silva, 2008; Cury, Reis, Zanardi, 2018). Averiguamos a recorrência do tema da cultura nas competências gerais da educação básica e nas demais competências previstas pelas diferentes áreas do conhecimento estabelecidas pela Base, construindo o discurso que diz se tratar de um documento que visa construir currículos interculturais na educação básica. Contudo, concluímos que a própria noção de competência é uma abordagem que reforça e referenda o ideário neoliberal que, por princípio, é monocultural. Deste modo, a suposta valorização da diversidade cultural presente na BNCC é na verdade uma expressão do que Tubino (2005) chama de interculturalidade funcional, quer dizer, ações que dizem promover a tolerância, mas sem tocar nas causas das assimetrias sociais e culturais hoje vigentes, o que torna o diálogo intercultural inautêntico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In this article we discuss how cultural diversity is approched in the Common National Curriculum Base. The work was built from the analysis of the document, following the guidelines of documentary research and in accordance with part of the critical bibliography in the curriculum's área (Silva, 2008; Cury, Reis, Zanardi, 2018). We investigated the recurrence of the theme of culture in the general competences of basic education and in the other competences provided by the different areas of knowledge established by the Base, building the discourse that says it is a document that aims to build intercultural curricula in basic education. However, we conclude that the very notion of competence is an approach that reinforces and endorses the neoliberal ideology which, in principle, is monocultural. In this way, the supposed appreciation of cultural diversity present in the BNCC is actually an expression of what Tubino (2005) calls functional interculturality, that is, actions that claim to promote tolerance, but without mentioning the causes of the social and cultural asymmetries prevailing today, which makes intercultural dialogue inauthentic.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En este artículo analizamos cómo se aborda la diversidad cultural en la Base Curricular Nacional Común. El trabajo se construyó a partir del análisis del documento, siguiendo las pautas de la investigación documental y en diálogo con parte de la bibliografía crítica del campo curricular (Silva, 2008; Cury, Reis, Zanardi, 2018). Verificamos la recurrencia del tema de la cultura en las competencias generales de la educación básica y en las demás competencias previstas por las diferentes áreas de conocimiento establecidas por la Base, construyendo el discurso que dice que es un documento que pretende construir currículos interculturales en la educación básica. Sin embargo, concluimos que la propia noción de competencia es un enfoque que refuerza y remite a la ideología neoliberal que, por principio, es monocultural. Así, la supuesta valorización de la diversidad cultural presente en la BNCC es en realidad una expresión de lo que Tubino (2005) denomina interculturalismo funcional, es decir, acciones que pretenden promover la tolerancia, pero sin tocar las causas de las asimetrías sociales y culturales vigentes en la actualidad, lo que hace que el diálogo intercultural sea inauténtico.]]></p></abstract>
