Apresenta-se como objetivo principal entender como constroem estratégias, os suportes e apoios que têm permitido a elas ampliar a escolaridade. No que tange à metodologia, a pesquisa recorre a abordagem quantitativa, elaborando e aplicando extenso questionários e articulando os resultados com e observação de campo. O estudo empírico efetivou-se no conjunto de favelas da Maré, situado no Rio de Janeiro, com mães estudantes da educação de jovens e adultos (EJA). Os resultados mostraram que Trabalho é uma categoria em destaque na relação entre estudos e maternidade, sobretudo entre as mais pobres, moradoras de favela, pretas e pardas, tendo em vista que é considerado fator prioritário, principalmente nos casos em que a mulher é a única ou a principal responsável pelo sustento da casa. Ficou evidente, que nas suas trajetórias os afazeres domésticos e os cuidados dos filhos são considerados, na maioria das vezes, tarefas exclusivas das mulheres, condição que acaba distanciando muitas delas da escolarização. Nesse contexto, a EJA aparece como o &#8220;campo de possibilidade&#8221;. Assim, o estudo transita pelo debate que aproxima gênero dos campos da educação, trabalho e demais intersecções, buscando levantar elementos capazes de fornecer subsídios para a construção de políticas públicas, que consolide o direito à educação para todas as mulheres, como prevê a Constituição Federal.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article seeks to discuss, based on research results, how women who are mothers reconcile studies and motherhood in their daily lives. The main objective is to understand how they build strategies, the support that has allowed them to expand their education. Regarding methodology, the research uses a quantitative approach, developing and applying extensive questionnaires and articulating the results with field observation. The empirical study was carried out in the Maré favela group, located in Rio de Janeiro, with mothers studying youth and adult education (EJA). The results showed that Work is a prominent category in the relationship between studies and motherhood, especially among the poorest, favela residents, black and brown women, considering that it is considered a priority factor, especially in cases where the woman is the only or the person primarily responsible for supporting the household. It was evident that in their trajectories, domestic chores and childcare are considered, in most cases, exclusive tasks for women, a condition that ends up distancing many of them from schooling. In this context, EJA appears as the &#8220;field of possibility&#8221;. Thus, the study moves through the debate that brings gender closer to the fields of education, work and other intersections, seeking to raise elements capable of providing subsidies for the construction of public policies, which consolidate the right to education for all women, as provided for in the Federal Constitution.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El presente estudio reproduce los resultados de la investigación doctoral de la primera autora, destacando el debate sobre la conciliación entre estudios y maternidad. El objetivo principal es discutir trayectorias, estrategias, elecciones y posibilidades que configuran la vida social de las mujeres que son madres, con el fin de resaltar el apoyo que les ha permitido ampliar su educación. En cuanto a la metodología, la investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, de carácter exploratorio y en cuanto a los procedimientos, tiene un carácter bibliográfico y de campo. El estudio empírico se realizó en el grupo de la favela Maré, ubicado en Río de Janeiro, con madres cursando Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos (EJA). Los resultados mostraron que el trabajo es una categoría destacada en la relación entre estudios y maternidad, especialmente entre las personas más pobres y residentes en favelas, considerando que se considera un factor prioritario, especialmente en los casos en que la mujer es la única o principal responsable del mantenimiento de la vida. la casa. Se hizo evidente que las tareas domésticas y el cuidado de los niños son consideradas, en la mayoría de los casos, tareas exclusivas de las mujeres, condición que termina alejando a muchas de ellas del mercado laboral y, especialmente, de la escuela. Así, el estudio avanza en el debate que aúna género, educación y trabajo, buscando levantar elementos capaces de brindar subsidios para la construcción de políticas públicas, que consoliden el derecho a la educación para todos, previsto en la Constitución Federal.]]></p></abstract>
