A história desse movimento nos ensina que as dificuldades encontradas e as soluções que lhes foram propostas envolveram numerosas concessões que acabaram por enfraquecer o alcance de seus princípios fundadores. Este texto revisita alguns episódios da história da LIEN entre as duas Guerras Mundiais, enfatizando como ela trabalhou para a sua coesão no momento em que o número e a natureza das suas dissensões aumentavam.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Divided between the desire of gathering the largest possible number of its members and that of taking the ideological orientation of each one of them into consideration, the New Education Fellowship - NEF was successful in providing itself with a sufficiently consensual image to legitimize its action. The history of this movement teaches us that the difficulties encountered and the solutions proposed for them involved numerous concessions that ended up weakening the scope of its founding principles. This text revisits some episodes of the history of the LIEN between the two World Wars, emphasizing how it worked for cohesion at a time in which the number and nature of its dissensions increased.]]></p></abstract>

La historia de ese movimiento nos enseña que las dificultades encontradas y las soluciones que les fueron propuestas envolvieron numerosas concesiones que acabaron por debilitar el alcance de sus principios fundadores. Este texto revisita algunos episodios de la historia de la LIEN entre la dos Guerras Mundiales, enfatizando como ella trabajó para su cohesión en el momento en que el número y naturaleza de sus dimensiones aumentaban.]]></p></abstract>

L&#8217;histoire de ce mouvement nous apprend que les difficultés rencontrées et les solutions qui leur furent apportées relèvent de nombreux compromis qui vont progressivement affaiblir la portée de ses principes fondateurs. Ce texte revient sur quelques épisodes de l&#8217;histoire de la LIEN entre les deux Guerres Mondiales en soulignant comment elle a travaillé à sa cohésion alors que le nombre et la nature de ses dissensions allaient en augmentant.]]></p></abstract>
