Discutimos neste artigo, com base na literatura, o processo de turvamento como sendo composto por uma conjunção de elementos. Concentramo-nos na articulação de conceitos advindos de distintas áreas do conhecimento, não colocados em evidência em trabalhos anteriores: a construção discursiva de realidade no cinema de FC; o uso da linguagem da ciência; as características das narrativas do gênero de (FC), em especial o novum e o senso do maravilhoso; o reendereçamento e a subjetividade da audiência. Estes elementos se entrelaçam, levando à potencialização ou minimização do turvamento por estabelecerem relações entre a realidade empírica e aspectos imaginativos. Compreendendo estas nuances do turvamento, estudos de recepção de filmes de FC podem ampliar a compreensão de suas potencialidades e limitações como recursos educativos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Varios trabajos de investigación advierten sobre la posibilidad de que las películas de ciencia-ficción (CF) influyan en el público sobre la ciencia, desdibujando los límites entre conocimiento científico y ficción. Analizamos el proceso de desenfoque como si estuviera compuesto por una conjunción de elementos. Nos centramos en la articulación de conceptos provenientes de diferentes áreas del conocimiento, no destacadas en trabajos anteriores: la construcción discursiva de la realidad en el cine de CF; el uso del lenguaje de la ciencia; las características de las narrativas del género de CF (novum y sentido de lo maravilloso); el redireccionamiento y la subjetividad de la audiencia. Estos elementos se entrelazan, lo que conduce al crecimiento o a la minimización del desenfoque al establecer relaciones entre la realidad empírica y los aspectos imaginativos. Dados estos matices del desenfoque, los estudios de recepción de películas de ciencia-ficción pueden ampliar la comprensión de su potencial y limitaciones como recursos educativos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Several research works have warned about the possibility of science fiction (SF) films influencing the public about science, blurring the boundaries between scientific knowledge and fiction. In this article, based on the literature, we discuss the blurring process as being composed of a conjunction of elements. We focus on the articulation of concepts coming from different areas of knowledge, not highlighted in previous works: the discursive construction of reality in SF cinema; the use of the language of science; the characteristics of narratives in the SF genre, especially the novum and the sense of the marvelous; the re-addressing and subjectivity of the audience. These elements intertwine, leading to the enhancement or minimization of blurring by establishing relationships between empirical reality and imaginative aspects. Understanding these nuances of blurring, studies of the reception of science fiction films can broaden the understanding of their potential and limitations as educational resources.]]></p></abstract>
