Partimos da consideração de que a ecologia é considerada uma ciência ainda recente, com seus conceitos em constante construção e reformulação, e que elementos básicos de seu campo sofrem influências da sociedade e, de forma similar, no que diz respeito ao seu ensino e presença nos livros didáticos. Assim, acreditamos que o presente trabalho possa contribuir com um quadro geral que permita reconhecer tendências, identificar e sistematizar a produção escrita sobre o tema, colaborando com possíveis desdobramentos e o desenvolvimento da área. Dessa forma, realizamos um levantamento bibliográfico em sete periódicos nacionais e dois internacionais, entre os anos de 2001 a 2021. Identificamos um total de doze trabalhos que tratam de ecologia e livros didáticos, nos quais foi possível observar uma diversidade de temas estudados, tais como: biodiversidade, meio ambiente, cadeia alimentar, ciclo do nitrogênio, fluxos populacionais, ecologia de populações e ecologia de ecossistemas. Além disso, um terço dos trabalhos apontam sobre a importância de considerar aspectos historiográficos e os contextos de produção do conhecimento nos conteúdos ecológicos, denunciando sua ausência e/ou escassez.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper aims to reflect on the research scenario in the field of biology teaching and textbooks, in order to understand what contributions and challenges are announced by academic productions in the area, regarding to ecology. We start from the consideration that ecology is still considered a recent science, with its concepts in constant construction and reformulation, and that basic elements of its field are influenced by society and, similarly, with regard to its teaching and presence in textbooks. Thus, we believe that the present work can contribute with a general framework that allows recognizing trends, identifying and systematizing the written production on the subject, collaborating with possible ramifications and the development of the area. Thus, we carried out a bibliographic survey in seven brazilian and two international journals, from 2001 to 2021. As a result, we identified twelve papers dealing with ecology and textbooks, from which it was possible to observe a variety of topics studied, such as: biodiversity, environment, food chain, nitrogen cycle, population flows, population ecology and ecosystem ecology. Furthermore, a third of the works point to the importance of considering historiographical aspects and the contexts of knowledge production in ecological contents, denouncing their absence and/or scarcity.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo comprender el escenario de la investigación científica en el área de la enseñanza de la biología y en los libros de texto, con el fin de comprender qué aportes y desafíos se anuncian en tales producciones académicas en torno al abordaje de la ecología. Partimos de la consideración de que la ecología aún se considera una ciencia reciente, con sus conceptos en constante construcción y reformulación, por lo tanto, elementos básicos de su campo están influidos por la sociedad, y lo mismo ocurre en cuanto a su enseñanza y presencia en los libros de texto. Así, creemos que el presente trabajo puede contribuir con un marco general que permita reconocer tendencias, identificar y sistematizar la producción escrita sobre el tema, colaborando con posibles desarrollos del área. De esta manera, realizamos un levantamiento bibliográfico en siete revistas brasileñas y dos internacionales, entre los años 2001 a 2021. Identificamos un total de doce trabajos que tratan sobre ecología y libros de texto, en los que fue posible observar una diversidad de temas estudiados, tales como: biodiversidad, medio ambiente, cadena alimentaria, ciclo del nitrógeno, flujos de población, ecología de poblaciones y ecología de ecosistemas. Además, un tercio de los estudios apuntan a la importancia de considerar los aspectos historiográficos y los contextos de producción de conocimiento en los contenidos ecológicos, denunciando su ausencia y/o escasez.]]></p></abstract>
