Apesar das estrat&#233;gias propostas pelos Par&#226;metros Curriculares Nacionais, o tema ambiental ainda esbarra na disciplinaridade e se restringe ao contexto escolar, o que demanda mudan&#231;as estruturais e pedag&#243;gicas sobre o fazer educativo, repensando o papel da escola na sociedade contempor&#226;nea e sua responsabilidade na forma&#231;&#227;o de sociedades sustent&#225;veis. Frente a isso, fazem-se necess&#225;rias a reflex&#227;o e a cria&#231;&#227;o de possibilidades de mudan&#231;a sobre as quest&#245;es socioambientais. Nesse sentido, o "Estudo do Meio"&#233; um m&#233;todo de ensino e pesquisa que valoriza a diversidade de saberes, estimula a conviv&#234;ncia de id&#233;ias e revela a complexidade da rela&#231;&#227;o sociedade e meio ambiente. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Environmental education is an educational proposal that seeks a change of habits, attitudes and social practices for a solution to the framework of socio-environmental degradation. Despite the strategies proposed by the Brasilian National Curriculum, the environmental issue still impacts the educational practices within school walls, and therefore demands structural and pedagogical changes within education, a rethinking of the role of schools in contemporary society, and their responsibility in forming sustainable societies. Against this, become necessaries the reflection and the creation of possibilities for change on environmental issues. In this sense, "The studies of the Environmental" is a method of teaching and researching which values the diversity of knowledge, encourages the coexistence of ideas, and reveals the complexity of the relationship between society and the environment, all of which allow for.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: La Educaci&#243;n Ambiental es una propuesta educativa que busca cambios de h&#225;bitos, actitudes y pr&#225;cticas sociales como soluci&#243;n frente a la degradaci&#243;n socio ambiental. A pesar de las estrategias propuestas por los Par&#226;metros Curriculares Nacionais, el tema ambiental todav&#237;a tropieza con la disciplinaridad y con su restricci&#243;n a los muros de la escuela y, de esta manera, demanda cambios estructurales y pedag&#243;gicos en el quehacer educativo, para repensar el rol de la escuela en la sociedad contempor&#225;nea y su responsabilidad en la formaci&#243;n de sociedades sustentables. Para hacer frente a eso, son necesarias la reflexi&#243;n y la creaci&#243;n de posibilidades de cambios en las cuestiones socio ambientales.
