As crianças cruzam com cenários de discriminação, subordinação e segregação social dentre outras situações que configuram ação das crianças na sociedade que se distanciam da compreensão universal e ideal de infância associada à escolarização e as brincadeiras, nem sempre sendo protegidas em espaços institucionais que garantam seu desenvolvimento integral. Nesse sentido, pensar o protagonismo e a participação infantil latino-americana requer compreensões acerca das distintas realidades sociais que não promovem tipos e estilos dados, prontos e acabados, mas que são construídos na dinamicidade das relações, espaços, lugares e tempos para que ocorra a participação. Para tanto, o presente estudo pretende abordar reflexões acerca do protagonismo infantil na América Latina a partir de um estudo exploratório sobre as publicações científicas sobre a temática nos países hispano-falantes do continente, nos últimos anos, a fim de identificar como o conceito vem sendo compreendido e discutido no meio acadêmico. As produções, além de elucidar as ações e contribuições sociais desta categoria geracional, que historicamente esteve à margem social e científica, também possibilitam compreender as diversas experiências de vivenciar a infância nesses países e dialogar com as questões e problemáticas que perpassam suas vidas e que demandam por olhares atentos às iniciativas e espaços de participação, a fim de ampliar a visibilidade social das crianças.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[abstract Studying childhood in Latin America requires considering the context of social inequality in which so many children are immersed, as well as the complexity of thinking about the pluralization of childhood and the multiplicity of life experiences of children in this region. Children encounter scenarios of discrimination, subordination and social segregation, among other situations that configure their action in a society that distances them from the universal, ideal understanding of childhood that is associated with schooling and play; nor are they always protected in those institutional spaces that should guarantee their full development. In this respect, thinking about Latin American children's protagonism and participation in their own lifeworlds requires an understanding of the different social realities that do not promote given, ready-made types and styles, but which are built on the dynamics of relationships, spaces, places and times so that the participation occurs. The present study aims to address reflections on child protagonism in Latin America through an exploratory study of the scientific publications on the subject in the Spanish-speaking countries of the continent in recent years, in order to identify how the concept has been understood and discussed in the academic environment. This literature, which has historically occupied the social and scientific margins, will make it possible to understand the different experiences of living childhood in these countries, and to dialogue with the issues and problems that permeate children&#8217;s lives. These problems demand attention, and call for initiatives and spaces for participation that will act to increase the social visibility of children.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[resumen Estudiar la infancia en América Latina requiere considerar el contexto de desigualdad social en el cual se encuentran inmersos, así como la complejidad de pensar la pluralización de la infancia y la multiplicidad de formas y experiencias de vida de los niños y niñas de esta región. Los niños y niñas se encuentran con escenarios de discriminación, subordinación y segregación social, entre otras situaciones que configuran su actuación en la sociedad, que los aleja de la comprensión universal e ideal de la infancia asociada a la escolarización y al juego, no siempre protegida en espacios institucionales que garanticen su lleno desarrollo. En este sentido, pensar el protagonismo y la participación de los niños y niñas latinoamericanos requiere comprender las diferentes realidades sociales que no promueven tipos y estilos dados, listos y acabados, sino que se construyen sobre dinámicas de relaciones, espacios, lugares y tiempos para que la participación. Para tanto, el presente estudio se propone abordar reflexiones acerca del protagonismo infantil en América Latina a partir de un estudio exploratorio sobre las publicaciones científicas sobre el tema en los países de hispano-hablantes del continente, en los últimos años, con el fin de identificar cómo se ha venido interpretando y discutiendo el concepto en el ambiente académico. Las producciones, además de aclarar las acciones y aportes sociales de esta categoría generacional, que históricamente ha estado en los márgenes social y científico, también permiten comprender las diferentes experiencias de vivir la infancia en estos países y dialogar con los problemas y problemáticas que permean sus vidas y que demandan atención a iniciativas y espacios de participación, con el fin de incrementar la visibilidad social de los niños y niñas.]]></p></abstract>
