Esto impide que su obrar en la cotidianidad sea tolerante en su ambiente escolar, generando dificultades en el docente para mediar comportamientos opuestos a una cultura de paz. Ante esto, se propone la Filosofía para Niños (FpN) como apuesta ético-política que permita robustecer el pensamiento crítico, creativo y cuidadoso para mirar hacia una cultura de paz. Diego Pineda, el fundador de FpN en Colombia, sostiene que es necesario desarrollar en los estudiantes habilidades de pensamiento que, adicionales a conocimientos éticos-ciudadanos, los lleve a tomar decisiones acertadas en el abordaje pacífico del conflicto. El desarrollo paulatino del pensamiento, la cercanía a las comunidades de indagación, la incursión en habilidades cognitivas y éticas producto de las herramientas pedagógicas propias del programa de FpN, constituyen una preparación para asumir posiciones argumentadas frente a dilemas que acontecen dentro de los conflictos escolares, ello facilitará al estudiante estructurarse y lograr tomar decisiones iluminadas por la razón.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[abstract After teaching the subject of ethics in a formal way, and in applying traditional school family rules to daily life, students typically do not appropriate ethical principles, for several reasons: they do not see them as useful, they do not understand the context in which they are applied, or they simply do not affect them, thus nullifying any interest in exploring them. This prevents them from developing a peace culture in their school environment, and makes it difficult for the teacher to introduce and mediate behaviors embodying such a culture. Given this situation, Philosophy for Children (PfC) curriculum and pedagogy represent an ethical-political dispositif that allows for strengthening critical, creative and caring thinking, thus preparing the ground for a peace culture. Diego Pineda, the founder of PfC in Colombia, argues that it is necessary to develop thinking skills in students that, in addition to a knowledge of civics, lead them to make ethically sound judgments in the process of resolving conflict. The gradual development of dialogical thinking follows on the closeness among the members of the inquiring community, and the steady acquisition of cognitive and ethical skills, enhanced by the PfC facilitator&#8217;s use of the pedagogical tools of the program. As such, the practice of PfC acts to prepare students to assume reasonably argued positions as they face the inevitable conflicts that occur in a school setting, thereby enabling them to formulate arguments and to reach judgements enlightened by the inherent values of a functioning culture of peace.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[resumo Depois de ensinar a disciplina de Ética e aplicar as regras tradicionais da família escolar, os alunos não se apropriam de elementos éticos por vários motivos: não os consideram úteis, não entendem o contexto ou simplesmente não os afetam, anulando qualquer interesse por eles. Isso os impede de agir de forma tolerante no ambiente escolar, dificultando a mediação dos professores em relação a comportamentos que se opõem a uma cultura de paz. Diante disso, a Filosofia para Crianças (FpC) é proposta como uma aposta ético-política que permite fortalecer o pensamento crítico, criativo e cuidadoso, a fim de buscar uma cultura de paz. Diego Pineda, fundador da FpC na Colômbia, defende que é preciso desenvolver nos alunos habilidades de pensamento que, além do conhecimento ético-cidadão, os levem a tomar decisões acertadas na abordagem pacífica do conflito. O desenvolvimento gradual do pensamento, a proximidade com as comunidades de investigação, a incursão em habilidades cognitivas e éticas, produto das ferramentas pedagógicas do programa FpC, constituem uma preparação para assumir posições argumentativas diante de dilemas que ocorrem no interior dos conflitos escolares, o que ajudará o aluno a se estruturar e a alcançar decisões iluminadas pela razão.]]></p></abstract>
