Uma das técnicas da metodologia de dança criativa é a improvisação, seus procedimentos estimulam os participantes a refletirem e criarem padrões de movimentação e sequências coreográficas dirigidas por temas pré-estabelecidos. Assim, o ato do dançar exige do aluno não apenas ajustes motores, mas também rítmicos, além do uso da expressão e imaginação. Durante à interpretação da dança e música regiões do cérebro são ativadas, isso traz benefícios para funções neurais, como raciocínio lógico, linguagem, memória, atenção, visão, sensações e à própria motricidade. Desse modo, é possível promover o desempenho escolar do aluno. O presente texto apresenta um modelo conceitual para o entendimento da relação dança, cognição e criatividade, que foi fundamentado na fenomenologia da percepção e formação do conhecimento incorporado (embodied knowing). As de informações deste texto podem ampliar o entendimento da dança criativa, no contexto escolar, bem como, qualificar o uso da improvisação como ferramenta pedagógica. Conclui-se que a dança criativa traz benefícios para plasticidade neural do aluno, podendo beneficiar seu rendimento escolar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This text aims to address the benefits of teaching creative dance for cognition and creative ability of children and adolescents. One of the techniques of the creative dance methodology is improvisation, its procedures encourage participants to reflect and create movement patterns and choreographic sequences directed by pre-established themes. Thus, the act of dancing requires from the student not only motor adjustments, but also rhythmic ones, in addition to the use of expression and imagination. During the interpretation of dance and music regions of the brain are activated, this has benefits for neural functions, such as logical reasoning, language, memory, attention, vision, sensations and motor skills. In this way, it is possible to promote the student's academic performance. This text presents a conceptual model for understanding the relationship between dance, cognition and creativity, which was based on the phenomenology of perception and the formation of embodied knowledge. The information in this text can broaden the understanding of creative dance in the school context, as well as qualify the use of improvisation as a pedagogical tool. It is concluded that the creative dance brings benefits to the neural plasticity of the student, being able to benefit his academic performance.]]></p></abstract>
