Afirma-se a relevância de tais percepções para que se possa atingir a qualidade pretendida no ensino e, sob esse entendimento, examinar o potencial norteador dessas percepções para fins pedagógicos. Para tanto, foram revisados referenciais sobre a qualidade do ensino de língua portuguesa e sobre o papel pedagógico do gestor escolar. Procedeu-se com o procedimento de estudo de caso por meio de pesquisa documental e de um questionário aplicado aos departamentos de gestão da escola. Os resultados apontam que o modo como os gestores avaliam a qualidade do ensino de língua portuguesa resulta em um perfil de gestão orientativo e formativo, que se traduz em suporte ao trabalho do professor.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This paper aiming to conduct a survey of the perceptions of the public school managers in the federal education in the country of Barra do Corda, State of Maranhão, concerning the quality of Portuguese language teaching in professional high school. The relevance of such perceptions is affirmed in order to achieve the desired quality in teaching and examine the potential guiding of these perceptions for pedagogical purposes. Therefore, references on the quality of Portuguese language teaching and on the pedagogical role of the school manager were reviewed. We proceeded with the case study procedure through documentary research and a survey was applied to the school's management departments. The results reveal that the way managers assess the quality of Portuguese language teaching results in a targeted and formative management profile, which has repercussions in support of the teacher's work.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El artículo tuvo como objetivo hacer una encuesta de las percepciones de los gestores de una escuela pública de la red federal de educación, en el municipio de Barra do Corda, Estado de Maranhão, sobre la calidad de la enseñanza del portugués en la formación media técnico profesional. Se afirma la relevancia de tales percepciones para que se pueda alcanzar la calidad deseada en la enseñanza y, bajo este entendimiento, examinar el potencial orientador de estas percepciones con fines pedagógicos. El procedimiento de estudio de caso se llevó a cabo a través de una investigación documental y un cuestionario aplicado a los departamentos de gestión de la escuela. Los resultados indican que la forma en que los gestores evalúan la calidad de la enseñanza de la lengua portuguesa resulta en un perfil de gestión orientativo y formativo, lo que se traduce en apoyo al trabajo del profesor.]]></p></abstract>
