O tema desses trabalhos é o Ensino Fundamental de nove anos, e todos eles foram defendidos em Programas de Pós-Graduação em Educação durante o período de 2006 a 2010. Nosso propósito foi conhecer a produção acadêmica sobre essa temática de pesquisa e suas principais contribuições para o campo da Educação. Os resultados dessa investigação indicam que produções acadêmicas sobre o Ensino Fundamental de nove anos estão relacionadas a diferentes aspectos. No caso dessa pesquisa, identificamos quatorze enfoques diferentes, entre os quais se destacam: política de implantação do Ensino Fundamental de nove anos; significados atribuídos pelas professoras ao Ensino Fundamental de nove anos; alfabetização e letramento; infância e relações entre Educação Infantil e Ensino Fundamental.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This article presents the key results of a study involving the analysis of thirty-six Master’s Degree dissertations and five Doctorate theses defended as part of the Postgraduate courses in Education, from 2006 to 2010, focusing on the subject of the nine-year Elementary Education. The aim is to investigate the academic production on this theme of research, and its main contributions to the field of Education. The results of this investigation indicate that the academic production on the nine-year Elementary Education focuses on different aspects. Thus, fourteen different approaches were identified, including the introduction of the nine-year Elementary Education policy; meanings attributed to the new system by teachers in Elementary Education; literacy and the ability to read and write; and childhood and the relations between Pre-school Education and Elementary Education.]]></p></abstract>
