O estudo teve como objetivo compreender as concepções de infância, educação e gênero encontradas no filme e o papel da educação na emancipação das meninas/ mulheres. As análises foram realizadas á luz de autores como Vigotsky (2011), Cohn (2005), Freire (1996, 2002), Ivic (2010) e Louro (1997, 2011). A partir dos fatos ocorridos no filme, podemos perceber o poder da educação, revelando que o acesso, pode interferir na possibilidade de transformação da realidade vivida. As reflexões desenvolvidas apontam para a importância de se pensar e lutar por políticas de prevenção das violências de gênero e de cuidados com as infâncias de meninas e mulheres, como possibilidade de justiça social e construção de um mundo mais igualitário e humano.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This study conducted a quantitative analysis the film The Fisherman&#8217;s Diary, which addresses different forms of violence and prejudice suffered by women and girls living in a fishing village in Cameroon/ Central Africa. its aim was to understand the conceptions of childhood, education and gender portrayed in the film, and the role of education in the emancipation of girls and women. As theoretical background to the analyses, we made use of authors such as Vigotsky (2011), Cohn (2005), Freire (1996, 2002), Ivic (2010) and Louro (1997, 2011). Based on the facts that occurred in the film, we see the power of education, revealing that access to education can greatly enhance the possibility of transforming the lives of these girls and women. The reflections developed point to the importance of thinking about and fighting for policies to prevent gender violence and to care for the childhood of girls and women, as a way of improving social justice and building a more egalitarian and humane world.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Buscamos analizar cualitativamente la película The Fisherman&#8217;s Diary, que aborda diferentes formas de violencia y prejuicios sufridos por mujeres y niñas que viven en un pueblo de pescadores en Camerún/África Central. El estudio tuvo como objetivo comprender las concepciones de infancia, educación y género encontradas en la película y el papel de la educación en la emancipación de las niñas/mujeres. Los análisis se realizaron a la luz de autores como Vigotsky (2011), Cohn (2005), Freire (1996, 2002), Ivic (2010) y Louro (1997, 2011). A partir de los hechos ocurridos en la película, podemos ver el poder de la educación, revelando que el acceso puede interferir en la posibilidad de transformar la realidad vivida. Las reflexiones desarrolladas apuntan a la importancia de pensar y luchar por políticas de prevención de la violencia de género y de atención a la infancia de niñas y mujeres, como posibilidad de justicia social y de construcción de un mundo más igualitario y humano.]]></p></abstract>
