Realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa de base documental, na qual foram examinadas as duas séries de leitura utilizadas na região no período indicado, sob os pressupostos teóricos da história do livro e da leitura. Os resultados permitem concluir que, no caso das séries em análise, mediante um discurso exortativo do estudo (vamos estudar) e da alegria (vamos sorrir), ambas podem ser consideradas representativas da escolarização primária, da alfabetização e do significado de infância subsumido nessa prática em sua época. Além disso, os textos presentes nos materiais contribuiram para a constituição de uma identidade que visava formar o bom filho, o bom aluno e, no futuro, o bom cidadão.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This study analyzes two reading sets (named Vamos Estudar? and Vamos Sorrir?) used in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, between the 1960s and 1970s, aiming to examine the specificity of these materials in the consolidation of the reading processes, within Brazil&#8217;s educational scene and within the aforementioned state&#8217;s circulation. A qualitative document research was carried out, in which two reading series used in the region during the period indicated were examined under the theoretical assumptions of the story of the book and of reading itself. The results point out that, by adopting a stimulating discourse of study (in the case of Vamos Estudar?) and a discourse of joy (in the case of Vamos Sorrir?), both manage to represent primary schooling, literacy and the substance of childhood, constitutive of this practice in their time. Furthermore, the texts in the materials have contributed to the construction of an identity that aimed at educating a good son, a good student and, in the future, a good citizen.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El presente trabajo analiza dos series de lectura (Vamos Estudar? e Vamos Sorrir?) utilizadas en Mato Grosso do Sul, entre las décadas de 1960 y 1970, teniendo como objetivo examinar la especificidad de esos materiales en la consolidación de los procesos de lectura escolar, en el escenario educativo brasileño y de circulación en ese estado. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa de base documental, en la cual se examinaron las dos series de lectura utilizadas en la región en el período indicado, bajo los presupuestos teóricos de la historia del libro y de la lectura. Los resultados permiten concluir que, en el caso de las series en análisis, mediante un discurso exhortativo del estudio (vamos a estudiar) y de la alegría (vamos sonreír), ambas pueden ser consideradas representativas de la escolarización primaria, de la alfabetización y del significado de la infancia subsumido en esa práctica en su época.
