Foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa aplicada, qualitativa e de intervenção, que focava no desenvolvimento das funções mentais superiores de 2 crianças com autismo. As entrevistas foram realizadas antes e depois de 4 meses de trabalho realizados diariamente na sala de aula e em outros ambientes da escola. Focamos a análise em dois aspectos: suas análises sobre o método e suas perspectivas sobre a evolução das crianças após a intervenção. As entrevistadas relatam perceber a evolução das crianças em várias funções mentais e a diminuição de alguns sintomas do TEA após a intervenção. Nossos dados apontam para a necessidade de as crianças com autismo serem trabalhadas em uma perspectiva que englobe todos os aspectos do seu desenvolvimento, evitando atividades repetitivas e engessadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This work presentes the results of a qualitative, applied and intervention research conducted with mothers, teachers and psychopedagogues of children with autism. That research, focused on the development of higher mental functions of two children, was done in the classroom and in other school environments, before and after four months of daily work. The analyses of the data were focused on two aspects: their opinion on the method created and applied by the researcher, and their perspectives on the children&#8217;s evolution after the intervention. The interviewees reported noticing the children's evolution in various mental functions and the reduction of some ASD symptoms after the intervention. Our data also point to the need of a work with children with autism from a perspective which encompasses all aspects of their development, avoiding repetitive and plastered activities]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El texto presenta la evaluación de madres, docentes y psicopedagoga de niños con autismo sobre un enfoque de trabajo desarrollado por las autoras y denominado método singular. Se desarrolló una investigación aplicada, cualitativa y de intervención, la cual se centró en el desarrollo de las funciones mentales superiores de 2 niños con autismo. Las entrevistas se realizaron antes y después de 4 meses de trabajo diario en el aula y en otros ambientes escolares. Centramos el análisis en dos aspectos: su análisis del método y sus perspectivas sobre la evolución de los niños tras la intervención. Los entrevistados relatan haber notado la evolución de los niños en diversas funciones mentales y la reducción de algunos síntomas del TEA después de la intervención. Nuestros datos apuntan a la necesidad de que los niños con autismo sean trabajados desde una perspectiva que abarque todos los aspectos de su desarrollo, evitando actividades repetitivas e inflexibles.]]></p></abstract>
