<self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2178-52012014000100012&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2178-52012014000100012&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2178-52012014000100012&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Analisou-se o conteúdo de entrevistas com gestores escolares - diretores de escola e coordenadores pedagógicos - de cinco escolas públicas de ensino fundamental da cidade de São Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, para investigar: 1) como eles compreendiam o bullying, principalmente no que tange às suas determinações; 2) o que propunham em suas escolas para combatê-lo e 3) a relação entre sua compreensão do fenômeno e as propostas feitas para seu combate. Concluiu-se que os gestores que percebiam haver determinação social sobre a violência escolar apresentavam propostas de combate ao fenômeno mais estruturadas, voltadas ao entendimento do fenômeno por parte de alunos e professores. Os demais, por outro lado, com base em uma visão mais reducionista que dificultava a percepção da incidência do bullying no ambiente escolar, elaboravam ações pouco relacionadas com os fatores que o produzem - ações estas, em muitos casos, ineficientes ao seu combate]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Interviews by school authorities from five public primary schools in São Paulo, São Paulo State, Brazil were analyzed. The contents of the interviews by school principals and pedagogical coordinators investigated (1) the manner they understood bullying, especially with regard to their determinations; (2) their proposals for combating the problem; (3) the relationship between their understanding of the phenomenon and the suggestions against it. Results showed that the authorities that perceived the social determination on school violence had the best structured suggestions against the phenomenon, with regard to its understanding by students and teachers. On the other hand, others, foregrounded on a more reductionist stance which made difficult the perception of bulling within the school milieu, suggested activities which were not relevant to the factors that produced it and thus not efficacious in their attacking the phenomenon]]></p></abstract>
