Com o intuito de contribuir para os debates dessa área, este artigo tem por objetivo discutir a importância do ensino de Ciências em um contexto de negacionismo. Para tal, debateremos, brevemente, a relação entre Ciências, sociedade e educação ao longo da história, as contribuições dos estudos da Agnotologia e as soluções que podem auxiliar em uma educação científica crítica. Destaca-se a urgência da construção de currículos menos prescritivos, mais politizados e que envolvam os contextos dos estudantes. Por suas características, a perspectiva Ciência, Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS) apresenta potencial para contribuir para uma vivência curricular que possibilite a defesa da Ciência no âmbito social e escolar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Fake news, post-truth social impacts, and anti-science discourses have generated concern in various social sectors, especially among science education scholars. This paper aims to discuss the importance of Science teaching in the context of scientific denial. For this, we will briefly discuss the relationship between Science, society and education throughout history, the contributions of Agnotology studies, and the solutions that can contribute to critical scientific education. The urgency of building curricula that are less prescriptive, more political, and students' contexts involving is clear. Due to its characteristics, STS educational perspective has the potential to contribute to the experience of curricula that enables the defense of Science in the social and school context.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen La ocurrencia de fake news, los impactos de la posverdad en la sociedad y los discursos anticientíficos han generado preocupación en diversos sectores sociales, especialmente en los estudiosos de la educación científica. Con el fin de contribuir a los debates en el campo, este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir la importancia de la enseñanza de las ciencias en un contexto de negación. Para ello, abordaremos brevemente la relación entre ciencia, sociedade y educación a lo largo de la história, las aportaciones de los estudios de agnotología y las soluciones que pueden aportar a una educación científica crítica. Se destaca la urgencia de construir currículos menos prescriptivos, más politizados y que involucren los contextos de los estudiantes. Por sus características, la perspectiva CTS tiene el potencial de contribuir a la experiencia de currículos que posibiliten la defensa de la ciencia en el contexto social y escolar.]]></p></abstract>
