O artigo, incidindo o foco sobre a legisla&#231;&#227;o educacional, regulamenta&#231;&#227;o da assist&#234;ncia social, relat&#243;rios de chefes de pol&#237;cia, of&#237;cios remetidos pela Diretoria Geral de Instru&#231;&#227;o, peri&#243;dicos e registros fotogr&#225;ficos, problematiza algumas das justificativas acionadas no per&#237;odo que sublinhavam as potenciais contribui&#231;&#245;es que a reconfigura&#231;&#227;o dos comportamentos, h&#225;bitos e condutas da popula&#231;&#227;o prestaria para a tentativa de disciplinamento e harmoniza&#231;&#227;o do tra&#231;ado arquitet&#244;nico e seus usos sociais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The city of Rio de Janeiro was characterized, during the 1920s, by the implementation of some government actions that attempted to undertake an interlacing of the preventive, educational and correctional dimensions with the actions of urban improvement. The article, based on analysis of educational legislation, regulation of social assistance, reports of police chiefs, requests sent by the Diretoria Geral de Instru&#231;&#227;o, periodicals and photos, discusses some of the justifications that were firmed during the period that aimed to emphasize the potentials contributions that the disciplining of the behavior of the population would contribute for the organization and harmonization of the architectural structure and its social uses.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[La ciudad de R&#237;o de Janeiro en la d&#233;cada de 1920 estuvo marcada por la ejecuci&#243;n de ciertas acciones de gobierno destinadas a realizar una combinaci&#243;n entre las dimensiones preventivas, educativas y correccionales y las medidas de reforma urbana. El art&#237;culo, centrando las atenciones en la legislaci&#243;n educativa, en la regulaci&#243;n de la asistencia social, en los informes de los jefes de polic&#237;a, en las cartas enviadas por la Diretoria Geral de Instru&#231;&#227;o, revistas y fotograf&#237;as, problematiza algunas de las justificaciones construidas en la &#233;poca que destacaban la contribuci&#243;n que la reconfiguraci&#243;n de los comportamientos, h&#225;bitos y costumbres de la poblaci&#243;n proporcionar&#237;a para el esfuerzo de disciplinar y armonizar el dise&#241;o arquitect&#243;nico de la ciudad y sus usos sociales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Dans les ann&#233;es 1920, la ville de Rio de Janeiro, a &#233;t&#233; marqu&#233;e par la mise en &#156;uvre de certaines actions du gouvernement que voulait entreprendre un entrelacement des dimensions pr&#233;ventives, &#233;ducatives et correctives avec les initiatives de r&#233;forme urbaine. L'article, en mettant l'accent sur l&#233;gislation &#233;ducationale, la r&#233;glementation de l'assistance sociale, rapports des chefs de police, documents de la Direction G&#233;n&#233;rale de L'instruction, p&#233;riodiques et documents photographiques, probl&#233;matise certaines justifications d&#233;clench&#233;es dans la p&#233;riode que souligne les contributions potentielles que la reconfiguration des comportements, habitudes et le conduites de la population &#233;tait de tenter la discipline et l'harmonisation de tra&#231;age architecturale et de ses usages sociaux.]]></p></abstract>
