Argumentamos que o primeiro encontro de diferentes estilos se deu com a fuga de dois grumetes da esquadra de Pedro &#193;lvares Cabral, quando aportada em Porto Seguro no primeiro dia de maio de 1500. Desde ent&#227;o se deu um processo de m&#250;tuo conhecimento e transforma&#231;&#227;o entre as crian&#231;as/jovens que vieram de Portugal e as ind&#237;genas locais. Por meio de uma narrativa especulativa desse encontro, que se apoia em fontes s&#243;cio-hist&#243;ricas, destacamos os principais aspectos culturais e educacionais (antropoc&#234;ntrico/ecoc&#234;ntrico, adultoc&#234;ntrico/dial&#243;gico) dos dois estilos de inf&#226;ncia. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract We focus on sociohistorical aspects of Brazilian childhoods, understood as the result of hybridization of different styles of childhood since the Portuguese colonization. It is argued that the first meeting of different childhood styles happened when two cabin boys from the Portuguese squad in the city of Porto Seguro on 1 May 1500. Since then, there was a process of mutual understanding and transformation among children/young people who came from Portugal and the local Indigenous. Through a speculative narrative of this meeting, which is based on socio-historical sources, we highlight the major cultural and educational aspects (anthropocentric/ecocentric, adult-centered/dialogic) of the two styles of childhood. From the socio-historical perspective we reflect on their childhoods and current models of education.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Enfocamos los aspectos sociohist&#243;ricos de las infancias brasile&#241;as, comprendidas como el resultado de la hibridaci&#243;n de diferentes estilos de infancia desde la colonizaci&#243;n portuguesa. Se argumenta que el primer encuentro de diferentes estilos ocurri&#243; con la huida de dos grumetes de la escuadra de Pedro Alvares Cabral, cuando aportada en la ciudad de Porto Seguro el 1&#186; mayo 1500.
