As significações construídas a respeito da avaliação externa são provenientes de revisão bibliográfica e pesquisa de campo realizada em uma escola pública municipal de Belém/PA. As análises acerca dos resultados indicam dois movimentos/posicionamentos concomitantes: o dos gestores pedagógicos, que não privilegiam os resultados dos testes externos e nem o índice de qualidade nacional na realização da organização do trabalho pedagógico; e o dos professores que estão modificando &#8220;naturalmente&#8221; seus fazeres em busca de resultados preconizados pelo Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (IDEB).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This study discusses the relationship between external evaluation and pedagogical practice, the understandings acquired by professionals working in the school environment, appropriations of results, tensions and strategies used to improve teaching. The meanings built with respect to external evaluation come from bibliographic review and field research carried out at a municipal public school in Belém/PA. The analyzes of the results indicate two concomitant movements/ positions that of the pedagogical managers who do not favor the results of the external tests, nor the national quality index in the organization of the pedagogical work; and that of the teachers who are "naturally" modifying their work in search of results recommended by the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El estudio discute la relación existente entre la evaluación externa y la práctica pedagógica, las comprensiones adquiridas por los profesionales que actúan en el ambiente escolar, las apropiaciones de los resultados, las tensiones y las estrategias utilizadas para la mejora de la enseñanza. Las significaciones construidas con respecto a la evaluación externa proceden de revisión bibliográfica e investigación de campo realizada en una escuela pública municipal de Belém/PA. Los análisis sobre los resultados indican dos movimientos/posicionamientos concomitantes: el de los gestores pedagógicos, que no privilegian los resultados de las pruebas externas y ni el índice de calidad nacional en la realización de la organización del trabajo pedagógico; y el de los profesores que están modificando "naturalmente" sus esfuerzos en busca de resultados preconizados por el Índice de Desarrollo de la Educación Básica (IDEB).]]></p></abstract>
