Para tanto, recorremos aos fundamentos teóricos e metodológicos de Gérard Genette (2009) e ao volume sessenta e um, da primeira à quinta edição, da obra Castiliana. Concluímos que o autor, ao escolher os paratextos, procurou manter relações com os seus leitores, fazendo com que o seu texto circulasse e se fizesse presente no cotidiano dos professores e alunos das escolas portuguesas e brasileiras do oitocentos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This work aims to analyze the paratexts of the editions of the Portuguese Method of teaching reading, by António Feliciano de Castilho, and demonstrate how these elements constitute editorial strategies adopted by the author to dialogue with the audience for which the work is intended. To do so, we resorted to the theoretical and methodological foundations of Gérard Genette (2009) and to volume sixty-one, from the first to fifth editions, of the work Castiliana. We conclude that the author, when choosing the paratexts, sought to maintain relationships with his readers by making ensuring that his text circulated and became present in the daily lives of teachers and students in Portuguese and Brazilian schools in the 19th century.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar los paratextos de las ediciones del Método portugués de enseñanza de la lectura, de António Feliciano de Castilho, y demostrar cómo estos elementos constituyen estrategias editoriales adoptadas por el autor para dialogar con el público al que se dirige la obra. Para ello, recurrimos a los fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos de Gérard Genette (2009) y al volumen sesenta y uno, de la primera a la quinta edición, de la obra Castiliana, y concluimos que el autor, a la hora de elegir los paratextos, buscó mantener relaciones con sus lectores haciendo que su texto circulara y estuviera presente en la vida cotidiana de profesores y alumnos de las escuelas portuguesas y brasileñas del siglo XIX.]]></p></abstract>
