Foi aplicado um questionário baseado em escalas do tipo Likert, a todos os discentes do referido curso, totalizando 159 indivíduos. Os resultados mostraram que a extensão influenciou na construção das concepções desses alunos sobre a identidade animal-humana, bem como a proximidade com atividades de iniciação científica se relacionou com a tendência dos mesmos em associar dimensões morais a outros animais não-humanos. Esses dados podem ser importantes para se pensar em atividades didáticas que favoreçam a quebra de preconceitos raciais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[We aimedat investigating the conceptions of biological sciences undergraduate students of the State University of MatoGrosso (UNEMAT), Tangará da Serra, about the human (animal) identity. A questionnaire, based on Likert-like scales was applied to all the students of this course, totaling 159 individuals. The results showed that the extension influenced the students’ development of conceptions about the human-animal identity, and that the proximity with scientific initiation activities was related with a tendency to associate moral dimensions with other non-human animals. This information can be important to plan didactical activities that favor overcoming racial prejudice.]]></p></abstract>
