Para a coleta de dados, recorreu-se à pesquisa documental e à entrevista semiestruturada aplicada a um membro da Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Tenente Ananias. Os resultados do estudo demonstram que o referido município tem lançado mão de mecanismos de avaliação, prestação de contas e responsabilização, de forma integrada, constituindo uma política de accountability forte voltada ao ensino fundamental e orientada à produção de determinados resultados educacionais, que a articulam à política educacional brasileira. O Programa Aluno Nota 10 se apresenta como uma política controversa, haja vista seu caráter meritocrático, estando pautado na promoção da competição como subterfúgio para a elevação do desempenho acadêmico dos estudantes. Para tal, o município em questão tem feito uso da avaliação (sob uma perspectiva somativa, excludente e classificatória), da exposição pública e de recursos públicos destinados ao campo educacional.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This manuscript analyzes the Grade 10 Student Program as an educational accountability policy developed and implemented by the municipality of Tenente Ananias - Rio Grande do Norte. Data was collected using documentary research and a semi-structured interview with a member of the Tenente Ananias Municipal Education Department. The results of the study show that the municipality has used evaluation, accountability and responsibility mechanisms in an integrated way, constituting a strong accountability policy aimed at primary education and geared towards the production of certain educational results, which link it to Brazilian educational policy. The Grade 10 Student Program is a controversial policy, given its meritocratic nature, based on promoting competition as a subterfuge for raising students' academic performance. To this end, the municipality in question has made use of evaluation (from a summative, exclusionary and classificatory perspective), public exposure and public resources earmarked for the educational field.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este manuscrito analiza el Programa Estudiante Nota 10 como política de responsabilización educativa desarrollada e implementada por el municipio de Tenente Ananias - Rio Grande do Norte (RN). Este manuscrito analiza el Programa Estudiantil de 10º Grado como política de responsabilidad educativa desarrollada e implementada por el municipio de Tenente Ananias - Rio Grande do Norte. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó una investigación documental y una entrevista semiestructurada a un miembro del Departamento Municipal de Educación de Tenente Ananías. Los resultados del estudio demuestran que el mencionado municipio ha utilizado mecanismos de evaluación, rendición de cuentas y rendición de cuentas, de manera integrada, constituyendo una fuerte política de rendición de cuentas dirigida a la educación básica y orientada a la producción de determinados resultados educativos, que están vinculados a la política educativa brasileña. El Programa Estudiante Nota 10 se presenta como una política controvertida, dado su carácter meritocrático, al basarse en promover la competencia como subterfugio para incrementar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. Para ello, el municipio en cuestión ha hecho uso de la evaluación (desde una perspectiva sumativa, excluyente y clasificatoria), la exposición pública y los recursos públicos destinados al ámbito educativo.]]></p></abstract>
