Parte-se da an&#225;lise do papel do formador, situando a complexidade de conceituar esse termo, assim como as fragilidades ainda presentes em sua forma&#231;&#227;o. Defende-se a ideia de que a coer&#234;ncia entre a forma&#231;&#227;o desejada para os professores e a forma&#231;&#227;o de seus formadores &#233; um aspecto fundamental para promover o desenvolvimento docente. Em seguida, denotam-se diversos modelos e estrat&#233;gias de forma&#231;&#227;o continuada, com suporte na literatura cient&#237;fica e de estudos realizados pelos autores. Ao final, esbo&#231;am-se propostas para a melhoria da forma&#231;&#227;o continuada desde a perspectiva do desenvolvimento docente, a serem implementadas pelos &#243;rg&#227;os gestores e/ou pelas escolas. ]]></p></abstract>
