Realizou-se uma revis&#227;o da literatura sobre o tema, subsidiando-se em autores como Saviani (2003), Rodrigues (1988), Freire (1996) Bourdieu e Passeron (1992), entre outros, al&#233;m da realiza&#231;&#227;o de entrevistas com professores e alunos. Os participantes entrevistados concebem a fun&#231;&#227;o da escola como a de ensinar os conhecimentos historicamente produzidos, por&#233;m, nota-se dificuldades em definir o que de fato &#233; essencial e o que &#233; secund&#225;rio no trabalho educativo escolar. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  This paper aims to analyze which one (s) to (s) function (s) social (s) to attribute (s) to school from the perspective of teachers and elementary school students from public schools in Navira&#237;, Mato Grosso do Sul, MS. We conducted a literature review on the topic, if subsidizing in authors like Saviani (2003), Rodrigues (1988), Freire (1996) Bourdieu and Passeron (1992), among others, as well as interviews with teachers and students. Respondents participants see the school's role as that of teaching the knowledge historically produced, however, there is difficulty in defining what in fact is essential and what is secondary in the school educational work.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En este trabajo se pretende analizar cu&#225;l(s) a la funci&#243;n(s) social(s) seleccionado(s) a la escuela desde la perspectiva de los profesores y estudiantes de la escuela primaria de las escuelas p&#250;blicas en Navira&#237;, Mato Grosso do Sul, MS. Se realiz&#243; una revisi&#243;n de la literatura sobre el tema, con autores como Saviani (2003), Rodrigues (1988), Freire (1996) Bourdieu y Passeron (1992), entre otros, as&#237; como entrevistas con los profesores y estudiantes. Los encuestados los participantes a ver la funci&#243;n de la escuela como el conocimiento producido hist&#243;ricamente la ense&#241;anza, sin embargo, hay dificultad en la definici&#243;n de lo que realmente es esencial y lo secundario en el trabajo educativo de la escuela.]]></p></abstract>
