Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste estudo é verificar se a homofobia faz parte do núcleo central das representações sociais de acadêmicos do Curso de Pedagogia sobre a prática de bullying nas escolas. Participaram da pesquisa 261 acadêmicos e, para a coleta de dados, foi utilizado o Teste de Associação Livre de Palavras. A Teoria das Representações Sociais orientou a análise dos resultados, os quais revelam que o bullying homofóbico não faz parte do núcleo central das representações sociais dos universitários, porém é um elemento que compõe as representações periféricas. Isto posto, considera-se necessária a proposição de estratégias de enfrentamento às diferentes formas de violência contra as pessoas LGBTQIA no contexto escolar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Homophobia is a phenomenon constantly reiterated in school; its practice tends to cause on LGBTQIA people loneliness, rejection, resistance of belonging, subjection, and insecurity when dealing with others. In this sense, this study aimed to verify if homophobia is part of the central nucleus of social representations presented by the Pedagogy Course academics on the practice of bullying in schools. Two hundred and sixty-one students participated in this research, and the Free Word Association Test was used to collect data. The Theory of Social Representations guided our analysis of the results, which reveal that homophobic bullying is not part of the central nucleus of university social representations but is an element that composes the peripheral representations. Therefore, it is considered necessary to propose strategies for coping with different forms of violence against LGBTQIA people in the school context.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: La homofobia es un fenómeno constantemente presente en la escuela; su práctica suele ocasionar en las personas LGBTQIA la soledad, rechazo, resistencia de pertenencia, sujeción e inseguridad en relación con los demás. En ese sentido, el objetivo de este estudio es verificar si la homofobia forma parte del núcleo central de las representaciones sociales de académicos de la carrera de Pedagogía sobre la práctica de bullying en las escuelas. Participaron de la investigación 261 académicos y para la recolección de datos, se ha utilizado el Test de Asociación Libre de Palabras. La Teoría de las Representaciones Sociales ha orientado el análisis de los resultados, los cuales revelan que el bullying homofóbico no forma parte del núcleo central de las representaciones sociales de los universitarios, pero es un elemento que compone las representaciones periféricas. Con eso puesto, se considera necesaria la proposición de estrategias de enfrentamiento a las distintas formas de violencia contra las personas LGBTQIA en el ambiente escolar.]]></p></abstract>
