At UFRGS an attempt has been made, in the context of a general course in College Physics, to compare two groups, one of which had taken courses given by traditional methods only, while the other had already experienced the Keller plan. Both groups followed courses involvig the Keller plan and the Audio-tutorial approach to learning. A separate comparison of the Keller plan and Audio-tutorial systems was also carried out. As a whole, the results of the analysis indicate that there are no significant differences among the groups in terms of achievement, average number of tests taken per unit and time necessary to complete all units.
