The author intends to stimulate the discussion about the problem of the vocational training courses not submitted to the legal requirements of the regular school system ("ensino profissional livre"). After presenting some information about these courses in the State of São Paulo, he raises some preliminary questions regarding the legal-administrative, the socioeconomic and the educational aspects of this type of school.
