This article’s main goal is to reflect about some precepts regarding the theme of female work, in order to discuss the conceptual aspects of the sexual division of labor as well as the emancipating possibilities of some cooperative’s experiences with artisan women. This initiative started with academic research projects that are being done by the authors, with artisan women participating in the cooperatives of production and commercialization, in Alvorada and Pelotas/RS. The academic research, starting with the valuing of the journeys of the people involved, has enabled the women to remake the paths lived and re-frame their life experiences, especially in respect to the aspects female work world. It seeks, therefore, to realize the investigative process as part of any life journey of the workers involved, of the artisans as well as of the researchers, added to the fact that the research process, seen in this perspective, can constitute an opportunity to reflect about their journey, in view of projecting both the group’s and individual’s future.
