The article discusses aspects related lo the issue of the school's role in the psychological development of the human being, especially as regards intellectual and cognitive functioning. It raises questions such as: the role of the school in he cognitive functioning of those who go through it; if there are or not differences in the manner of thinking and in the manner of thought organization; the intellectual resources available lo people who have gone through school and to those that have not.
