Media ecology is a theory that studies the relationship between media and society, the impact that different technologies have on culture and human behavior. In education, it is not a recent approach; however, much of the research lacks in-depth theoretical discussions of this relationship. Therefore, due to the need to understand broader aspects related to its application, considering technological advancements in the educational context, the study aims to summarize the state of knowledge based on research on media ecology in education. To achieve this objective, an integrative literature review was conducted, which allowed synthesizing the selected works and analyzing the relationship between technological evolution and its impact on education, identifying several challenges. As a theoretical contribution, the research provides a synthesis of knowledge, consolidating existing understanding of media ecology in the educational context.
