Considering the emergence of new means of knowledge production and the importance of training human resources to work in scientific and technological activities, this paper proposes a reflection on the model of evaluation that the national graduate system uses to assure the quality of the programs and the knowledge produced. Its purpose is to identify the main challenges and opportunities of this system, emphasizing the importance of the participation of the academic community and decision-makers on Science and Technology policies for the promotion of changes.
