This article aims to discuss the role of social media in the socialization process of post-modern man. For this, the theoretical foundation is interdisciplinary in nature and includes works that deal with digital technology and media, as well as research on the social impacts of a so-called liquid era. The methodology is bibliographical, assuming that we mobilize authors from different areas of knowledge to make the proposed objective more complex. The results reveal the desire and need of postmodern man to construct false narratives on social networks, in order to try to make others create a certain image of themselves.
