This article describes an activity developed in the year 2022, in the discipline of Basic Education Management, in a Professional Master’s course in Educational Management. The activity in question sought to contribute to the formative aspect of managers and/or future managers, considering the singularities and challenges that cross the contemporary school field in its various modalities. One of these challenges concerns the place that the school occupies in a fast-paced world guided by the logic of capital, in which competition and individualism are some of its effects. In this sense, the activity developed met the challenge of bringing the school to the center of study and research, contributing to the theoretical-conceptual broadening of (future) managers; the demystification of some educational clichés; the expansion of articulation with technologies in the educational field, providing space for experimentation aimed at the production and sharing of constructed knowledge, pointing to the power of investigative approaches, capable of re-dimensioning the work of management focused on educational action and the organization that makes it possible . It is concluded that the proposed activities contributed to training with a reflective and investigative character, advancing in relation to prescriptive dimensions concerning the training and performance of the educational manager.
