The present study aims to study and discuss proposals for the formation of curricular structures for bachelor’s degree courses in physical Education in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The methodological procedures used were: documentary and exploratory analysis of the curricular structures and syllabi of undergraduate courses in physical education in the state of Rio de Janeiro. To analyze the subjects and syllabuses of the degree in physical education courses, we carried out a thematic categorization divided into analysis blocks. The results of the study indicate that the proposals for forming the curricular structures of the degree in physical education courses that, in general, do not include school practices as a structuring and organizing axis of the subject syllabi. It is concluded that there is a gap between knowledge about the field of school physical education in physical education degree courses and school practice for preparing a teacher to work at school.
