Several literary works have been analyzed with the purpose of identifying their potential to favor the articulation between Science Education and Literature. This article aims at analyzing the potential of the literary work ‘Tungsten’, by renowned Peruvian writer César Vallejo, to address aspects of the interactions between Science, Technology and Society (STS) in Natural Sciences Education. The cited work was subjected to Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) procedures. This examination has enabled us to understand that ‘Tungsten’ might bring contributions to educational practices in the area of Science Education to problematize the alleged neutrality of Technology and the relationship between Technology and power, supported by technocratic discourse and technological determinism. Moreover, literary work might help problematize Science and Technology as cultures that are part of other cultures, which they influence, and by which they are influenced as well. On these grounds, we argue that ‘Tungsten’ may support educational practices to study STS interactions in basic education and higher education, particularly in initial teacher training.
