Epistemology of practice and praxis in teacher training: research characteristics

The epistemology of practice is prevalent in research on teacher education in Brazil. The objective of the article is to understand in which epistemology the articles submitted to Revista Brasileira de Educação Profissional (RBEPT) are supported. Twenty articles published in RBEPT (2008-2019) were analyzed. The research method is the dialectical historical materialism of Marx and Engels (1998). The results point to a variation between the epistemology of practice and praxis. There are articles ranging from epistemology of practice to the epistemology of praxis. We defend a link with praxis in research on teacher education for PE.
