Systematic review about the use of technology in the educational process of deaf students

This article aims to investigate what national science researches reveal about the use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in the educational processes of deaf students through systematic literature review considering the period from 2008 to 2018. The information was gathered from the Theses and Dissertations Catalogue made available by Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (CAPES) and Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDLTD). The choices were made by reading the collection’s titles and abstracts. Then, we applied the inclusion and exclusion criteria and the works were divided into large thematic groups. Subsequently, the works were fully read and analyzed from the perspective of the French school of discourse analysis, which understands that scientific discourses are part of socially disseminated practices. The results demonstrate that most of the studies on technologies and on Brazilian Sign Language were conducted in postgraduate programs in education, at the master's degree. The most debated topics involve discussions about distance education, use of apps, mobile devices, learning objects, internet, audiovisual resources and media. Technological mediators were appointed as facilitators in the teaching and learning process of deaf students, when pedagogical parameters were established for their use and effective participation of the teacher and student during the activities processes.
