This article discusses the mission of professors from São Paulo in Mato Grosso from 1910 to 1916. It aims to follow the trajectory of Leowigildo Martins and Gustavo de Mello Fernando Kuhlmann, since the Normal School preparation until performances in Mato Grosso state, seeking to understand the circulation of pedagogical models and school subjects in interior of Brazil, as well as delineate appropriation and cultural translations made. It was noticed that despite the short work of these educators, they were worshiped in educational tradition of Mato Grosso assuming their passage by the state status of March founder of modern education.
