a) articles: research or essays on childhood, the relationship between childhood and philosophy, philosophical practice with children or some other relationship between childhood, education and philosophy;
b) experiences: reports of experiences related to philosophies and childhoods;
c) reviews: of books published in the last three years in the journal's thematic area, counting the year in which the review is submitted;
d) interviews: conducted with prominent figures in the magazine’s thematic field;
e) literature: stories, reports and other materials for philosophical practice with children;
f) preprints: childhood & philosophy does not consider that the publication of articles in preprint repositories invalidates the originality of the article submitted for review. attentive to the updates of the principles of open science, it foresees that articles published in preprint repositories can be submitted to the journal, without prejudice to their originality.
g) thematic dossiers: these are interinstitutional in nature and address themes within the scope of the journal, in order to broaden academic dialogue, foster research exchanges and/or deepen research experiences or practices. the dossiers consist of a presentation written by a guest editor(s) and at least five articles, bringing together authors affiliated with at least five institutions and preferably with the participation of at least two authors or co-authors affiliated with a foreign institution. the articles follow the journal's rules and review process and, if fewer than five texts are approved, they will be published in the journal's “articles” section.

when submitting their manuscripts, authors must:

• ensure the originality and originality of the submission, i.e., the work cannot have been previously published and/or be simultaneously submitted to another journal; to this end, it is important that you fill out the document with the declaration of originality, duly signed, and attach it digitally to the system. for this action, please repeat the same procedure that you used to upload the article submitted for evaluation.
• make sure that the submitted file is in microsoft word format without the authors' identification, and that it follows the submission template for the structure of the submitted text, available in the journal's horizontal bar. it is mandatory to use the format indicated by the journal's editorial board.
• check whether abbreviated citations in the body of the text and in footnotes (author, year of publication and, when applicable, page) are complete in the references at the end of the text, according to abnt or apa standards (depending on whether you have chosen one or the other). all references in electronic format (journals, e-books, digital theses and dissertations) must correctly indicate the complete url at the end of the reference. urls that are too long should be shortened using: https://bitly.com/
• make sure you are using standardized keywords according to the following thesauri: information science thesaurus (ibict); unesco thesaurus or eric thesaurus. failure to include standardized keywords will give direct authorization for the journal editors to include new standardized terms (the number of keywords must be between 3 (three) and 5 (five) terms)
• make sure that the registration has been completed to present the orcid id.
• make sure that the mandatory submission form is completed and sent in.

if, during the process of preparing and submitting manuscripts, there are any doubts, the authors can contact the journal's editorial team.

manuscript structure : the structure of the manuscript text is free.

section titles : section/subsection titles should be brief and clear.

text configuration : word file (doc. or docx. extension), source text: book antiqua 12; page configuration: a4; right, top and bottom margins: 2.5cm; left margin: 3cm; line spacing: 1.0; 1.25 indent on the first line; text alignment: justified.
when submitting the manuscript, it is necessary to use the template that has the appropriate formatting for submission.

acronyms and abbreviations : acronyms and abbreviations must be enclosed in parentheses and preceded by their full meaning when first used in the text.

foreign words : should be written in italics, with the exception of proper names. for emphasis, italics should be used.

explanatory notes: must be in the footer, in book antigua font 10, numbered in arabic numerals.

abbreviated citations in the body of the text and in footnotes (author, year of publication and, when applicable, page) must be complete in the references at the end of the text.

tables , graphs and charts (in editable format, that is, created using word itself and not as an image) must be numbered and inserted in the space provided for them with their respective sources.

figures (in jpeg or png format, from 300 dpi) must be included in the word file and must be sent separately (attached during article submission as a supplementary document). tables , graphs , charts and figures can be sent in color format.

links to electronic addresses must be active. the submission file must be in word format without identification of the authors.
to this end, it is necessary that the authors, at the time of submitting the article, correctly fill in the information in their user profile and also the information in step 3 (submission data) of the ojs platform (entering full name, email, institution/affiliation, country and summary of the biography of each author of the article)

to ensure the anonymity of manuscripts, it is also important to remove excerpts and information from the article that allow the identification of the authorship. items that should be removed from the manuscript at the submission stage include references to research projects and self-citations. this information should be made available on the title page to be uploaded during submission as a supplementary document, separate from the article. all this information with the potential to identify the authors may be included in the article, after its approval, when applicable.

title page : when submitting the article, the complete metadata must be included, via the journal's online system, prepared using the form, containing:

• title;
• title in the original language of the article and title in english for articles in portuguese;
• full name of each author;
• affiliation of each author (with university, city, state (if applicable), country);
• e-mail address of each author;
• indicate which of the authors is the corresponding author;
• orcid of each author;
• contribution of each author to the manuscript: childhood & philosophy adopts the specification system based on the credit system (contributor roles taxonomy), but adapted to childhood & philosophy practices ; this system summarizes the authors' contribution in:
• statement of conflict of interest (if there is no conflict, please state “no conflict of interest”);
• source of funding for the article (if there is no funding source, please state “no funding source”);
• acknowledgements (if any).
• title in portuguese and spanish;
• abstract (abstracts should be between 200 and 400 words, be easily readable and provide the main highlights and singularities of the text) in portuguese, english and spanish;
• keywords in portuguese, english and spanish;
• access to the cover sheet form.

1. conceptualization : formulation or evolution of general research ideas, objectives and goals.
2. writing, reviewing and editing the text : writing work, including drafts, critical analysis, comments or review of the ideas presented.
3. formal analysis* : application of statistical, mathematical, computational or other formal techniques to analyze or synthesize study data.
4. obtaining funding *: obtaining financial support for the project that resulted in this publication.
5. research *: carrying out the research process, specifically the execution of practical experiments that inspired the writing of this text.
6. methodology* : development or design of the methodology or methodological path that culminated in the writing process.
7. project administration* :responsibility for managing and coordinating the implementation of research activities .
8. resources* : provision of study materials, computational resources or other analytical tools.
9. supervision* : coordination or supervision of the research activity, including external mentoring of the work team.
10. validation* : verification, as part of the activity or separately, of the overall reproducibility/replication of research results

general: tables, figures, engravings, illustrations, graphs and drawings must be inserted in the text. scanned images must be presented with a resolution of at least 300 real dpi (not interpolated).
material resolution: materials from digital cameras must have at least 3 megapixels of uncompressed optical resolution (high definition module).
numbering: all images must be properly numbered and accompanied by captions and source indication.
figures*: the nomenclature for this type of material should be “figure” with progressive numbering, separated by a period. the source caption should be placed below the figure. the same goes for graphs. example: figure 1. restored classroom.
tables: tables must be accompanied by a title that allows the meaning of the data collected to be understood, without the need for reference to the text, always placed above. follow the ibge table standards. indicate the source below the table.
pictures : for pictures, the nomenclature should be placed above the illustration. example: “picture 1. the structure of the school” (this information is above the picture). indicate the source below the picture. example: “picture 1. restored classroom”.
*note on item 3 - figures:
articles that contain graphs, figures, tables and charts should be sent in a separate file, attached to the system so that we can edit them if necessary. do not include images that cannot be modified.

articles in other languages than portuguese can also be submitted following the apa standards (7th edition).
references should only include those actually used in writing the article.
references should be cited in alphabetical order, without numbering, single spacing with 6pt before and 0pt after between paragraphs. if there is more than one work by the same author, the chronological order of publication must be respected; if there is more than one work by the same author published in the same year, they must be differentiated using a, b and c.

orcid:
as a way of standardizing authorship, it is mandatory to include the orcid id when submitting texts to childhood & philosophy . after the first analysis, before being forwarded for evaluation, manuscripts that do not have the orcid informed in the system will be notified for the inclusion of the identifier record.
the orcid identifier can be obtained free of charge at: https://orcid.org/register.
the full url must be included, accompanied by the expression "https://" (for example: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1825-0097), or you can enter the automatic registration to connect via orcid.
all authors must have an orcid registration. on the journal platform, you can enter your orcid connection directly, allowing your connection to be validated by the system. when submitting, the author must click on authorization so that the other authors can validate their registration via the link provided.

url pattern
about the shortener: to maintain the standard in the system and in the pdf, we ask authors that if they find the url too long, they shorten the reference url using a url shortening system. we suggest bitly.
about the long url : when we leave the reference with a very long url, it tends to break in the ojs, and this harms standardization and recovery.
about the url on one line: urls that are on one line only do not need to be shortened, but those that take up more than two lines of the reference should be shortened.
about activating the url link: remember to activate all the urls inserted in the references.
about the doi in the references: for references that have a url with the doi, give preference to this doi link, as it will be organized systematically.

general notes
personal communication: authors are advised to indicate, in a footnote on the page where they are cited, information originating from personal communication, work in progress and unpublished work, and these should not be included in the list of references.
character length: articles, experience reports and interviews should not be shorter than 30,000 or longer than 50,000 characters. reviews should be between 12,000 and 24,000 characters. texts below or above these limits will be returned for revision.
number of authors in the text and title: there is no limit to the number of authors, as long as the number is justified in the distribution of authorial tasks. there is no title required and all submitted works will be equally judged by the criteria established by the editorial board. author registration must follow the standard established by childhood & philosophy , as indicated in the journal portal registration manual. click here to access. in addition to registering through the system, we ask that you send us the registration and metadata filled in the form. for research by authors linked to institutions outside Brazil:

when from foreign countries, articles reporting research results involving human beings must comply with the ethical procedures and protocols in force in the country of the author's institution.
on the submission form, authors must mark which of the two situations they are in and, when deemed necessary, the journal's editors may request formal proof of compliance with these requirements. this position will reinforce childhood & philosophy's commitment to good research practices (in the collection, storage and processing of data), guaranteeing the maintenance of a research culture that respects all human beings (privacy of participants, voluntary nature of participation, possibility of withdrawal, responsibility and care with data, confidentiality, risk/benefit balance).
since childhood is one of the scopes of the journal, it is considered fundamental that children be involved in deciding whether or not to participate in research, with procedures that are appropriate to their contexts. thus, research involving children must be reinforced with good practices, given the vulnerability and risks that may be present. access to information and data concerning them requires the authorization of their legal representatives (through free and informed consent), but does not dispense with the consent of the children themselves. with regard to research in a virtual environment, fostered on a large scale by the social context of the pandemic, authors must pay attention to the provisions of circular letter no. 2/2021/CONEP/SECNS/MS, of the National Research Ethics Commission (Brazil), of February 24, 2021, guaranteeing research subjects all the conditions aimed at preserving their rights.
