Estudos em Avaliação Educacional is a continuous scientific journal published by Fundação Carlos Chagas (FCC). Created in 1990, the journal aims to disseminate scholarly output related to the field of educational assessment, receiving studies from various humanities fields and theoretical-methodological perspectives, enabling the exchange of information and the academic debate.

It publishes unpublished works, presented in the form of articles, theoretical-methodological essays, experiment reports, interviews and reviews. Exceptionally, papers already published in foreign journals will be accepted when they provide a relevant contribution to the field.

The journal publishes texts in Portuguese and Spanish, in online version, at the FCC Publications Portal, as well as in various indexing databases. Works submitted in other languages are translated into Portuguese and the original article is also available. For each issue, the Editorial Committee chooses a paper to be published also in English.

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial and statistical review and are posted as soon as they are approved and edited by the editorial team of Fundação Carlos Chagas. The journal is published only online.

Estudos em Avaliação Educacional has no articles processing charges (APC). Access to the online version is open and free.

The abbreviated title of the journal is Estud. Aval. Educ., which should be used in footnotes and bibliographic references.

Estudos em Avaliação Educacional is ranked A2 in Education by the CAPES’ Qualis index.
