ABOUT THE JOURNAL

 

General information

Revista Práticas Educativas, Memórias e Oralidades (Rev.Pemo), ISSN: 2675-519X, is hosted by the State University of Ceará, UECE, and is linked to the research group of the same name, Rev.Pemo/CNPq, and to UECE’s Graduate Program in Education. Founded in 2019, it currently receives submissions in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish and publishes bilingually, on a continuous-flow basis, with English as a mandatory language. Rev.Pemo’s target audience consists of researchers in the humanities, basic and higher education teachers, students, and other professionals and members of society interested in the educational field, especially with regard to teaching and learning.

The journal Práticas Educativas, Memórias e Oralidades is an open-access scientific journal, which means that all content is freely available at no cost to users or their institutions. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without requesting prior permission from the publisher or the author. This statement is in accordance with the definition of open access established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

In line with Open Science and the FAIR principles, the journal continuously seeks to update its practices regarding the openness and transparency of all knowledge management processes it carries out. Thus, with the aim of making data findable, we assign a unique and persistent identifier to metadata, known as the DOI Digital Object Identifier; we adopt detailed metadata descriptions; we ensure the registration and indexing of metadata in the Metadata Manager; and we include the identifier within the metadata.
With the goal of making data accessible, we ensure that meta data are retrievable through their identifier via a standardized communications protocol; that this protocol is open and free of charge, allowing authentication and authorization when necessary; and we encourage the publication of preprints on reliable platforms such as SciELO, Emeri, and arXiv. To provide interoperable data, we state that the metadata use a formal, accessible, shared language of broad applicability for knowledge representation, with vocabulary that follows the FAIR principles and includes qualified references to other metadata. From the perspective of ensuring reusable data, the registered metadata include a variety of precise and relevant attributes, are associated with their provenance, and are made available under a clear and accessible data use license, CC-BY, in compliance with the standards of the scientific community.
