The submission flow for Rev.Pemo is open to spontaneous submissions from March to October each year.

Submissions must be made online, according to the tutorial, at: https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revpemo

Before submitting the article, authors must ensure that all coauthors are registered on the journal’s platform, with their respective metadata properly filled in. It is important to note that the following fields are mandatory: full name, email, country, URL of the Lattes link for Brazilian authors, ORCID, institutional affiliation, and short biography.
Articles must be submitted as a Word for Windows file, version 6.0 or higher, with the extension .doc, using Arial font, size 12, on A4 paper, with 1.5 line spacing, top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm, and left and right margins of 2.1 cm. Articles must be between 12 and 25 pages in length, except in duly justified cases. For pedagogical products, the maximum length may be up to 35 pages. Authors must include identification and all required information in the template, as the journal adopts an open review process without preserving anonymity for either authors or reviewers.

< Manuscripts may have a maximum of six authors, all equally responsible for the article, except in duly justified cases, preferably with at least one holding a doctoral degree. Each author’s contribution must be specified in a dedicated section at the end of the text, explicitly indicating their contribution.

An interval of one volume per year must be respected for publication by the same author or coauthor. That is, an author may not have two articles, as author or coauthor, published in the same year.

The title must be provided in Portuguese and English, in lowercase, centered, in bold, with only the initial letter capitalized, in Arial font size 12. It must contain a maximum of 15 words, including articles and prepositions.

Abstracts must have a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 150 words. They must be presented in Portuguese and English, accompanied by keywords, a minimum of three and a maximum of five. Use Arial font, size 11, with single line spacing.

References must follow ABNT standards and be included both in the journal’s system during submission and in the Word file at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, with single spacing, one line break separating each reference, and left aligned. The use of up to date theoretical references is recommended.

Notes should be used only when strictly necessary for clarification, as footnotes. They must be concise, in font size 10, left aligned, with single spacing. They must be numbered using cardinal numbers, with a single, consecutive numbering throughout the article.

In the case of research involving human subjects, the corresponding Free and Informed Consent Forms TCLE must be submitted as a supplementary document, or the approval opinion of the ethics committee.

Any existing conflict of interest must be stated in the “Comments to the editor” field. In the same field, authors must include the referencing and availability of data used and generated by the research, data processing code, and other materials underlying the text for purposes of evaluation, reuse, and reproducibility.

The content of the manuscript is the sole responsibility of the author or authors. The journal Práticas Educativas, Memórias e Oralidades (Rev.Pemo) is not responsible for the data, opinions, or content submitted for publication..

By submitting the article to the journal, the author agrees not to submit it to another publication venue for a period of six months from the date of submission.
Rev.Pemo does not charge authors any submission, evaluation, or publication fees. Evaluation, Portuguese language editing, formatting, layout, similarity checking using iThenticate, XML markup by Cubo according to the SciELO standard, and DOI assignment are the responsibility of the journal’s technical team, at no cost to the authors. However, translation into a second language is the responsibility of the authors and must be carried out by professionals indicated by the journal.

If the research has received funding, the author may include an acknowledgment note at the end of the text, before the references, and must also register it in the article metadata on the platform.

Proposals for dossiers or thematic issues:
The journal Rev.Pemo accepts proposals for dossiers or thematic issues, consisting of 8 to 12 articles that comply with the above standards and meet the following guidelines:

• All articles must be closely related to the proposed title or theme
• The dossier or thematic issue must include authors from different regions, with a maximum of two articles from the same institution
• The proposal must include at least two international articles
• Proposals must be submitted with a call for papers including titles, authors, institutional affiliations, short abstracts, emails, and ORCID, to the email: lia.fialho@uece.br

Illustrations
Tables, charts, figures, and graphs must be inserted in the body of the text with titles and captions in accordance with ABNT standards.

Citations
Citations in the text must follow the author date system and comply with ABNT NBR 10520, July 2023, standards for this system.
In direct or literal citations, the author’s name, whether inside or outside parentheses, should have only the initial capitalized Author, date, page. For citations of up to three lines, quotation marks should be used, without italics. Citations longer than three lines must be indented 4 cm from the left margin, in a smaller font size, with single spacing, without quotation marks and without italics.
In indirect citations, if the author’s name appears in the text, only the initial should be capitalized, with the date in parentheses. If the author’s name appears within parentheses, all letters must be capitalized, and the date should be included, without the need to indicate the page number. The period should be used to end the sentence, not the citation.
Mentions of authors in the text must follow ABNT Technical Standards NBR 10520, July 2023.

• References at the end of the text must comply with ABNT Technical Standards, NBR 6023, May 2025.
• Do not use a dash line (______). Instead, repeat the author’s name when there is more than one reference by the same author.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

• URLs for references have been provided, when possible, as active links.
• The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors, on the About the Journal page. That is, it uses the template available on the website.
• The article has been duly reviewed and standardized by a qualified professional.
• I declare that I am aware that the authors are solely responsible for the content published in their articles.
• The metadata of all authors have been fully completed: ORCID, Lattes URL, short biography, and full name of the institution.
• I agree with preprint and postprint publication, in accordance with the editor’s decision.
• The submission files are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format, provided they do not exceed 2 MB. They do not exceed 25 pages in the case of articles.
• The abstract was translated by a professional in the field of Languages/English/Spanish, and Google Translate or another translation program was not used exclusively.
• The contribution is original and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, this must be justified in “Comments to the editor”.
• The text uses the template provided by the journal. It is set in 1.5 cm spacing; uses 12-point Arial font; uses italics instead of underlining, except for URL addresses and references; figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document as appendices.

Submitted articles will first be assessed by the scientific editor, who conducts an initial screening to verify their compliance with the journal’s standards, focus, and scope. Texts that comply with the guidelines and objectives of the journal Práticas Educativas, Memórias e Oralidades will be forwarded to researchers from various teaching and research institutions, preferably affiliated with graduate programs in Education, serving as ad hoc reviewers. At that stage, reviewers from institutions different from that of the submission’s author or authors must declare the absence of any conflict of interest and their availability, or lack thereof, to carry out the review. In the event of refusal or conflict of interest, another reviewer is added to perform the review task.

The identity of authors and reviewers is disclosed in order to make the review process more transparent and democratic. In addition, the journal seeks to align itself with the principles of Open Science.

For the final decision on the article, double approval will be required. Therefore, in the event of disagreement, the submission is forwarded to a third ad hoc reviewer for a tie-breaking decision.

After this stage of the review process, the authors will be notified and will receive all ad hoc reports issued. Articles approved without reservations will be sent directly to the editor-in-chief, who may request adjustments to improve the quality of the publication’s content or forward it to the associate editor so that it may continue through the editorial workflow without comments. If the text requires changes, the proposed revisions will be sent to the authors, who will decide whether or not they agree to continue the publication process in accordance with the suggestions of two or three ad hoc reviewers, in the event of disagreement. If the suggestions are not addressed or if the authors do not respond, the article is rejected and archived. However, if the recommendations are addressed and the requested changes are incorporated into the text, it proceeds to language editing, layout, formatting, and translation, with a view to publication.

The names of the reviewers, as well as those of the authors of approved texts, will be disclosed to the readership at the time of article publication. Thus, reviewers grant prior consent for the disclosure of their names.

Once the review has been completed, the associate editor will forward the article to each member of the technical team, coordinating the final editing process. Thus, the associate editor supervises the similarity check in iThenticate, language editing and formatting in accordance with ABNT standards, layout, translation, XML markup, Crossmark activation, metadata deposit, and DOI publication.

All files, in their final version, are submitted for author validation, and authors may request minor adjustments.
The deadline for reviewing submissions is up to six months. If it has not been possible to find reviewers to issue reports within this period, a member of the editorial committee assumes responsibility for issuing a report on an urgent basis.

Members of the scientific committee and editors are not prohibited from publishing in the journal, since it is understood that they themselves are recognized references in their field of study and that their research constitutes valuable contributions to Rev.Pemo. In this specific case, management of the review process is assigned to two members of the editorial board from a country different from that of the author, after a declaration of absence of conflict of interest and a commitment statement ensuring the absence of any intervention.

The journal Práticas Educativas, Memórias e Oralidades ensures authors’ rights regarding publication; however, in the case of partial publication or republication, it is recommended that reference be made to the original place of publication, namely the Rev.Pemo link.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Law, the names and addresses provided to the journal will be used exclusively for the services offered by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.
