- Teias Journal publishes original and unpublished papers, referring to the area of Education, considering the editorial line of the Journal, treatment given to the theme, consistency and rigor. Submitted papers must be exclusive to the Journal.
- Papers that fall into the following categories will be considered for publication: papers of theoretical studies, research, essays, interviews and reviews.
- Papers must be submitted via the Electronic Journal Publishing System (Sistema Eletrônico de Editoração de Revistas - SEER), which will submit them to the Editorial Board for verification of compliance with the editorial policy defined by the Editorial Board of the Journal and compliance with regulatory requirements. Then, the papers will be sent, without identification, to at least two external reviewers (for opinion). In the case of evaluative discrepancy, a third reviewer will be indicated. The name of the evaluators will be kept confidential.
- The Editor-in-chief will notify the main author if the paper has been approved for publication, rejected or if it needs reformulation. The notification will be accompanied by a copy of the content of the opinions, without the identification of the reviewers.
- All authors must indicate in the appropriate field their ORCID registration.
- Papers, both for the thematic session and for continuous demand, must be between 25,000 and 45,000 characters, with the abstract in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
- Review texts must have a maximum of 10,000 characters, with an abstract in Portuguese, English and Spanish. This production must feature comments on recent work, or relaunch of some classic works in the field of education. The author must situate the field to which the work belongs to, must present the main ideas of the author and a critical appraisal of the work, referring to its contribution to the theoretical and practical context of education. The review must contain all bibliographic information intended to identify the commented work, as well as the book cover image, scanned in “.jpg” format [300dpi].
- The essay texts must have a maximum of 25,000 characters, with an abstract in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
- The manuscripts must preferably be written in Portuguese or Spanish with a maximum of 3 authors.
- The manuscripts must be sent electronically by SEER, http://www.e-publicacoes.uerj.br/index.php/revistateias/, indicating the section to which they refer to. The text has to be typed in Microsoft Word editor (doc, docx, rtf, txt), Times New Roman, font size 12, top and bottom margins 2.5 cm, left and right margins 3 cm, 1.5 line spacing and justified.
- Each paper must be headed by a title in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The title must not exceed 95 characters with spaces. If the text is written in Spanish, the title must be in Spanish and English. The text must initially present an abstract between 600 and 800 characters with spaces, in Portuguese, English and Spanish; for this, see ABNT NBR 6028, November 2003. If the text is written in Spanish, it should have a summary in Spanish, Portuguese and English. The abstract must not be written in the first person, and must contain the thematic focus, objectives, method, results and conclusions of the work. Three keywords in Portuguese, English and Spanish must be indicated at the end of the abstracts.
- The file must not exceed the 2Mb limit, when applicable. [TIP] for the file not to exceed the 2Mb limit, all images must be embedded in the base document at their original size (that is, they should not be resized in the base document itself) at 72dpi maximum resolution. The .jpg or .gif format should be used for images. Tables, charts, graphs, maps and images should have the title, source and year in which they were inserted or elaborated, and also numbered in sequence.
- Author(s) name(s), maximum 3, and title of the paper must be included in full and lower case in metadata forms; carefully fill in all requested information. The authors must indicate in the paper, full address and e-mail for disclosure. They must also include the highest level of academic qualification, institutional affiliation, professional position in the home institution, city, state and country. Also in the metadata form, authors must include the mailing address, contact telephone number, fax. In the URL item, authors should provide the link for the Lattes curriculum.
- The texts must be written clearly and fluently. Footnotes must only be used for some explanatory information. The author must take care not to use references that may identify himself/herself in the evaluation process, such as: “in my previous works, in my thesis, in my dissertation” etc. If the paper is accepted, this information may be included in the final version of the text.
- For the evaluation of the manuscripts, the following criteria must be observed: 1) relevance and comprehensiveness of the theme; 2) innovative character, development and depth of the theme; 3) theoretical and methodological structure of the work; 4) conclusion and contribution to the area of Education.
- Quotations must follow ABNT NBR 10.520 of August 2002, which states:
Direct quotes with less than three lines should be inserted in the text and enclosed in double quotation marks. The authorship of the quotation must be indicated.
Examples:
At the end of the quote: “Quotation”. (SILVA; GOMES, year, p. 123).
At the beginning or inserted in the text: According to Silva (year, p. 123): “Quote”, or Silva (year, p. 123) states that “[...] quotation”.
- Direct quotes with more than three lines should be highlighted with an indentation of 4 cm from the left margin, smaller font than the text and without quotation marks. At the end, it must be included: (AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, year, p. 123).
– Indirect quotes, i.e. text based on the author's work consulted, should use the same criteria as above for the author’s reference; if outside the parentheses, the surname begins with uppercase and then lowercase letters; if in parentheses, the surname appears in capital letters.
– the following features must be used:
[...] to indicate omission;
[ ] to indicate interpolation, additions, or comments;
italics for emphasis;
(verbal information)1 for data from verbal information in lectures, debates, etc., with reference data in the footnote. Footnote example: 1News provided by the Speaker’s First Name and Last Name at the Event, location, month, and year.
emphasis in the original or emphasis added: are used after page number to clarify the authorship of the emphasis. Ex .: (SILVA, year, p. 123, emphasis in original).
17. The concepts and statements contained in the papers must be the sole responsibility of the author(s).
18. Spelling and grammar proofreading, in Portuguese and English, is the sole responsibility of the author(s) of the paper.
19. References must be in accordance with ABNT NBR 6.023 August 2002. Include only works mentioned in the text.
