This paper describes the guidelines of the research on university performance evaluation that is being executed by the authors. The principal idea behind the research is to apply Data Envelopment Analysis to isolate the impacts on university performance due to improvements on management and quality. A stratified education production model is presented. Measures of performance and quality are discussed. An example is provided to illustrate the results that can be get.
