The article presents preliminary results of a research in progress with the objective of studying the teachers resistance to the students passing at the primary school. With the purpose of stimulating the discussion about this subject, the author presents observations and reflections about the possible determinants of the teachers' tendency to failure students, as well as its effects on the primary school performance.
